We find Niklaus in the parlor talking to a girl who makes me want to shrink to the size of the tip of a pin and never be found. I have never felt more like the ugly step-sister or a tattered rag doll. This girl has her back turned to the parlor entrance, but I can just sense her intimidating presence. She has the curves and the toned limbs that every girl pines for. Her jet black hair is glossy and perfectly straight.

Zoe gives me a nudge into the room making Niklaus stop in mid-sentence to look at me past the goddess’ shoulder. The woman turns around and I take in her flawless complexion, full lips, thin eyebrows and familiar knowing dark brown eyes.

“This is Bonnie,” Niklaus introduces clearly not interested in me with this goddess standing here as comparison. I can’t blame him, she really is a sight for sore eyes.

Bonnie. Looking at the woman I try to picture the four year-old girl - weak, vulnerable with blood spouting out of her tiny wrist.

“It’s nice to see you again, Ambrose,” Bonnie smiles.

I freeze in place sharing the same confused mask as Niklaus. Our eyes meet before we look at the woman. No. This can’t be! “W-what do you mean?”

“You remember me. I was the little girl from the orphanage whose life you saved,” She clarifies.

“But... you were mortal!” I begin to panic. I do the math in my head realizing that this is fifteen year-old Bonnie. How can she look so mature? How can she be immortal?

She explains, “As you remember, I was adopted. Then, I started having these strange dreams, and when I was thirteen I met Niklaus in Wonderland and he found out that I was mortal. He recognized me because of my older brother, who had been killed by some hunters along with my parents. I end up running away from my home and becoming an immortal. It was a little impulsive, I know, but now everything makes sense!”

“So you are a... pure-born immortal?” The words still sound so strange to me.

“Yes,” She nods. “And you are still mortal.”

“I didn’t want to drink the elixir,” I explain. “I’m Niklaus’ personal maid or stalker, whatever annoys him more.”

“So this is the annoying little brat you were telling me about?” Her tone is full of amusement as she turns to face Niklaus.

I cross my arms and glare at him again, I completely expected this from him. Seriously, you think a Prince would be charming and treat all women like fair ladies.

“You aren’t considered a woman,” He says reading my mind.

“I am not that uneducated, I can tell whose a woman and whose a man. Maybe you need to have a biology lesson,” I huff.

“Ladies don’t punch people!”

I snort, “I slapped you because you were being a rude an inconsiderate jerk!”

“Maybe because you were being a brat who didn’t give me any time to explain what we were doing! I got you here in one piece didn’t I?”

“You forced me to chug down the elixir when I clearly didn’t like it!” I accuse.

“After being given orders by my father, who is the King. It wasn’t like I could tell him-”

“And you put me on the spot. You said you were going to tell him that the elixir tasted like crap, but instead you make me tell this immortal King that I don’t even know!”
