The Wizards & The Time Jump

Part 1

A catch up in case you forgot how the last book ended; Gellert Grindelwald and Sarah Mitchell lived in Saint-Tropez, France due to being on the run from the Ministry Of Magic because Sarah killed Albus Dumbledore. After a while of the pair hiding in Saint-Tropez, the Ministry found them and had them both arrested. Eventually, after being arrested, The pair escaped along with a French man named Felix and a baby who they later named Richard. After breaking out of prison, the 3 wizards relocated to different parts of Greece. The two men went to live in Naxos and Sarah and baby Richard went to live in Mykonos. Soon after, the evil wizard, Gellert Grindelwald heard news of the baby being hunted. Grindelwald knew he had to locate Sarah and kill the baby if any of them wanted a chance to survive. Grindelwald killed the baby and Obliterated Sarah. Things in their lives became happy for a while until the Ministry contacted Grindelwald suspiciously and trapped him in the famous Lestrange Mausoleum.

The last time we saw our characters was in the late 1920s. It is now the early 2000's. All the characters have not changed physically but have aged normally. For example; Gellert Grindelwald will be over 100 years old now but will still be exactly the same as in the last books, as will Felix, Sarah, Mildred and Oris and any other characters that may return from past books.

Today's date is the 27th of January, Sarah is still in Mykonos but she isn't alone. When Grindelwald left that night to go to the Lestrange Mausoleum, he never returned to Sarah's house. Sarah was left to assume that Grindelwald had died while fighting Aurors sent from the Ministry. Sarah never actually believed that Grindelwald was really dead though, yes she assumed it but she never really felt it, part of her knew that he could possibly be alive even though he never contacted her. Sarah tried not to think about Grindelwald too much though, she was too busy looking after her son, Gellert.

Gellert is 10 years old now. Sarah got pregnant with him before Grindelwald left. I know the age doesn't make sense but ignore the 70 year time jump for now ;) He looked a lot like Grindelwald. They both had the same hair colour but Grindelwald's hair was short and blonde, whereas little Gellert's hair is long and blonde. Obviously, 10 year old boys don't have moustaches so that was a difference too. Little Gellert was also tall and thin just like Grindelwald was. Gellert also had 2 brown eyes instead of 2 mismatched ones, like his father. Funnily enough, despite living in Greece, little Gellert was very pale skinned just like his father too.

Sarah spent most of her days home-schooling little Gellert as she didn't trust anyone these days. Sarah rarely left little Gellert's side. They went everywhere together. Sarah was always worried that the people who took Grindelwald would try and take her son if they found out he existed. Sarah still didn't remember Richard and neither did Anastacia, Sarah's work friend, as she was Obliterated to forget him as well. Sarah told nobody about little Gellert, she was too scared to share things with people in case they were Aurors undercover. The only other person in Greece who knew about her son was Anastacia.

Sarah would home-school Gellert from 9:00am till 11:00am and then 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In the times between the lessons, Sarah would try her best to make clothes for her work to earn herself a little bit of money. These days she earns about 20 Euros a day which is 140 Euros a week and 560 Euros a month. Although it's not much, Sarah makes it work.

She wished that Gellert would help her if he was alive. She frequently wrote cryptic letters and sent them to his castle but she never received a reply. Even Mildred and Oris, Grindelwalds house elves and servants, stopped visiting her. The last time they visited her was the year 1969 when they celebrated that an astronaut had travelled to the moon by rocket for the first time. Since then, there has been no contact. Sarah even hoped that now there was so much technology around that Grindelwald would have an easier time contacting her even if he couldn't physically travel to her. Although, Sarah couldn't imagine Gellert Grindelwald walking around with a mobile phone in his hand. Sarah had a simple phone, a Nokia 3310 and she was planning on buying one for her son when he was old enough. But even with all this technology, no one outside Mykonos would speak to her.

Today was a Thursday which meant it was a weekday which meant Sarah had to teach Gellert things. In the mornings from 9:00am to 11:00am she would teach him English such as his alphabet and how to write words and spell them correctly and then in the afternoon Sarah would invite her Greek friend from work to teach him some Greek.

"Ok Gellert, come here, we will be doing a spelling test today." She said while sat at the dining table.

Gellert marched over and sat down opposite her.

"Ok, the theme of the words will be words about 'food' ."

"Alright mum."

"Ok, the first word I want you to spell is, chocolate."

Gellert then scribbled down the word."

"Don't rush it Gellert...right so the next word will be 'orange'."

Gellert took his time while writing it this time.

"The next word will be 'milk'."

Gellert paused before writing it down.

"Mum, you said that all these words were food based...but milk isn't a food, it's a drink"

This went on for a while and then Sarah checked Gellerts work, he almost got all of his words right apart from 3 which were; chocolate, tomato and aubergine. Sarah understood that they were all difficult words to spell so she didn't mind that he got them wrong.

"Did I get any wrong mummy?" He asked once Sarah had finished marking his work.

"You missed 3 words, chocolate, tomato and aubergine but it's ok cause I know they are tough words so I didn't expect you to get them all right."

"Ok, can I have a snack now?"

"Yes, there is some yogurt in the fridge for you."

Before going to the fridge Geller noticed that some mail had been delivered, there were 2 letters. One letter was addressed to Sarah Mitchell and the other was addressed to Gellert Mitchell.

"Look mum, we have letters." Gellert ran over to the pile by the door.

Gellert picked them up and gave one to his mum and kept the one addressed to him...
