Sarah spent the next few days wondering what to make of the Durmstrang letter. She didn't want to deprive Gellert of a real wizard education but she also didn't want to send him to a school like that one. She kept rereading the letter while Gellert wasn't around, mentioning the letter around Gellert would only make him want to go to school more. She even resorted to letting Gellert leave the house and meet Anastasia at her house for his Greek lessons all by himself rather than having her teach him at Sarah's house. It also didn't help that she missed Grindelwald. She wanted a reply to the letter she sent him. She hoped he had received it by now as it had been a few days since she mailed it to him. She often found herself pacing around the kitchen after putting Gellert to bed at night and continuing to pace till the early hours of the morning.
After nearly a month of waiting for a reply from Gellert she received something, but it wasn't a letter, it was Gellert Grindelwald in person.
It was a windy 25th of February and little Gellert was busy doing some maths work with his mother.
"Do you know what 11 multiplied by 6 is, Gellert?"
"Erm, I'm not sure...is it 20?" He said while looking unsure.
"No it's actually 66 but it's ok cause that's a tough maths question."
"Alright then, can I go and get a drink of water?"
"Of course you can Gellert."
While little Gellert went to the kitchen sink to get a glass of water Sarah sensed that some one was outside their house. She stood up and flicked her wand towards the front and back doors of her house just in case someone was actually outside. Gellert noticed and came rushing over to her.
"What is it mummy?" He said while looking worried.
"I'm sure it's nothing, it was probably the wind." Sarah only said this to not worry her son but she knew deep down it wasn't the wind.
Sarah then ignored the wind the best she could and continued teaching her maths lesson with her son.
Meanwhile outside, there was someone out there but it wasn't a Ministry of Magic employee, it was Gellert working up his courage to see for himself that his fiancee from 70 years ago was still alive. Up until he received Sarah's letter about a month ago he believed she was dead. He had never bothered to check, he assumed the Ministry had taken her the night he was help captive in the Lestrange Mausoleum. It was probably quite foolish to assume a wizard was dead when many wizards had faked their deaths before, he was honestly surprised that Dumbledore was really dead after Sarah killed him, Albus Dumbledore was no silly man, the fact he didn't some how survive getting murdered baffled many. So, having this in his mind made him question the legitimacy of Sarah being dead or alive but the only way he'd find out for sure would be knocking on her front door at the address she had sent him in her letter and finding out the truth.
After a further 30 minutes of feeling anxious in the warm wind of Mykonos, Gellert Grindelwald decided to build up all his courage and knock on Sarah's front door.
After he knocked on the door he took a couple steps back just in case this was a trap.
After a few moments the door opened, Sarah wasn't the person who answered it though, it was little Gellert. The boy had never seen his father before but quickly realised that they shared a lot of physical similarities such as their similar hair colour, body shape, and skin tone.
Grindelwald never really knew what to make of the contents of the letter he received from Sarah, including the whole child thing. He was obviously aware that himself and Sarah had tried for a baby together before being broken apart but he never really thought the try was successful. Grindelwald even thought that the likelihood of baby Richard coming back to life was more plausible then him becoming a father.
Gellert looked right at the man and the man stared right back at him in silence. Neither of them looked shocked to see the other. Even their similarities didn't bewilder them too much. Little Gellert didn't know if this man was a local resident or not as he had very rarely left this area of Mykonos so he chose a Greek greeting instead of an English one.
"Erm... geia kyrie....Hello Sir." He said, his voice shaking in fear.
"I speak English, boy."
The child's face looked paler than normal.
"Oh, sorry Mr, Would you like to come in?"
Grindelwald peered inside the house and didn't see Sarah.
"Is your mother around?"
"Erm I'm not sure, I think she's in the bathroom." The boy looked inside and then back outside at the man opposite him.
"Ah ok, I'll come back at a later date, don't tell your mother I was here though."
"Ok, I won't."
Grindelwald walked off slightly annoyed, he hoped he wouldn't have to meet his son like that. At least this made it obvious that Sarah was likely alive. He was slightly amazed by how much the boy looked like him. Grindelwald's own parents didn't look as similar to him as his son looked to him.
The next day Grindelwald returned to Sarah's house. This time it was less windy and more warmer than the day before so this made Gellert more happier which made him more positive about seeing his fiancée again.
He walked up to the house again and knocked the same way as he did yesterday.
This time Gellert was still in bed and Sarah answered.
As soon as Sarah opened the door Gellert could tell that she was happy to see him, Sarah didn't smile but her eyes had smile lines so he could tell she was trying her best to look serious. Gellert didn't really hide his happiness in seeing Sarah alive and well. He also kept a serious face though. He couldn't believe it had been so long since he had last saw her, neither of them had aged a day but he hadn't expected much to as wizards age slower than Muggles.
When he tried to greet Sarah his voice broke a little but he quickly composed himself. "H...hi Sarah."
It took a little while before Sarah said anything back, it seemed that she also couldn't believe that Grindelwald was stood in front of her alive after so many years.
"Hi Mr Grindelwald."
Grindelwald was slightly taken back by Sarah addressing him in this way but he supposed that because they hadn't seen each other in so long, being formal was the only appropriate way for them to speak to each other.
"You should come inside, Sir. I wouldn't want Muggles to hear in to out conversations..." Sarah then wrapped her hand around Gellert's left arm and yanked him inside.
