It has now been a couple months since Gellert Grindelwald had rudely visited Sarah. She still didn't care about the threats she had received from Grindelwald and the school. All she cared about was little Gellert's education and giving him the best life she could even if that meant refusing Durmstrang. She couldn't believe that she actually thought Grindelwald was returning because he cared for her, she should have known he wouldn't still love her after 70 years.
Sarah decided to get up early and walk to the post office and wrote letter to other magical schools. Sarah used one of the computers in the post office and found out that there were 11 different magical schools, Sarah decided she would more than likely want her son to go to a mainly English speaking school. However, she couldn't exactly send her son to Hogwarts due to the fact Sarah had killed their previous head teacher, Albus Dumbledore. Although, the idea of sending her son to Hogwarts wasn't a horrible idea. Sarah herself went to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in France. Sarah never really liked this school though, it was too girly for her which meant it would definitely be too girly for a little boy like Gellert. After searching on the computers for what felt like hours she decided to give up for the day. Sarah decided that she would instead write a letter to Durmstrang again as well as to Beauxbatons, Hogwarts and Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Sarah's letter to Durmstrang was far from kind. She made her opinions known by saying this:
Dear to whom this may concern,
My son is named Gellert Mitchell, I understand that you would like him to attend your school. I have wrote you many letters telling you that I don't want my son coming to your school and you have sent me many letters saying that he must attend Durmstarng as his father is the head teacher. I have no intention of sending my son all the way to Northern Europe from Greece all alone when I am perfectly capable to teach him from home. The only way I'll allow my son to join Durmstarng is if you either allow me to teach at your school or if you will allow me to teach him your curriculum from home.
I hope you send me your reply ASAP.
Yours faithfully, Miss S Mitchell.
Sarah then wrote a letter to Beauxbatons saying this:
Dear whom this may concern,
My son, Gellert Mitchell will be starting secondary school in September and I wondered if he could join your school.
Gellert is a very smart boy who is eager to learn about magic the right way. He has grown up in Greece but knows English very well too. I'm sure it wouldn't take him very long to learn French either.
Please think about considering accepting my son soon as he has already had offers from other schools.
Yours faithfully, Miss S Mitchell.
Sarah then sent similar letters to Hogwarts and Ilvermorny.
By this time it was 10:00 am so Sarah decided to pick up some fresh food from the shops and get home before her son wakes up.
While herself and Gellert were eating breakfast together Gellert asked whether he was allowed to go to the post office. He had never been there before on his own but he was eager to write a letter to someone special.
"Mum, can I go to the post office?"
"The post office? Why? You don't know anyone so why would you send anybody a letter?"
"Cause I want to. Please."
"What would you be doing there?"
Gellert thought for a little while about an excuse but didn't really have one.
"So I can use a computer."
"And do what on a computer?"
"Homework...I could practise my Greek."
"Hmmm. On a weekend?" Sarah thought that this was very suspicious. Gellert had never asked to go to the post office before let alone asked to do homework.
"Yes! I'll be good. Please."
"Fine! Go now, before I change my mind. But I'll check on you at lunch time."
"Ok." Gellert ran out of the door and and ran up the path into town.
When he arrived at the post office pretty quickly as he had ran all the way there. He opened the red door and took a seat near a empty computer. Gellert had never used a computer before but he quickly got the hang of it. He forgot for a second that he was in Greece so all the words on the computer screen were Greek, he was used to being surrounded by English at home. He figured out how to access Google and typed in 'Durmstrang address'. He then got a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote a letter to his dad:
'Dear dad...'
Gellert thought that he probably shouldn't write that as it sounded unprofessional. He also remembered that when he asked if that big scary man was his dad, his mum said no. So instead he decided to change it to 'Sir'.
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you because I would like you to visit me at home again. My mum does not like you but I really want to go to your school. I think we look pretty similar too. I think that we could be friends, I do not have many friends normally but I think as we look similar, so it would be cool for us to be friends.
I think you know my address but don't visit me there again. If you want to see me again then come to the post office on the 1st of May at 11:00am.
Goodbye, love from Gellert Mitchell.
Gellert then folded the paper in half and put it into an envelope. On the envelope he wrote the address of Durmstrang school and sent it.
Gellert then Googled a Greek language game and practised his Greek.
At lunch time, Sarah arrived to check on him.
"Hey Gellert, I brough you some sandwiches for lunch, they are cheese."
"Yay, thank you."
"You know what Gellert? Your dad always liked cheese sandwiches..."
"Really? Wow! What else do we both like?"
Sarah sat down next to Gellert and told him about his dad.
"You both were very smart boys."
Gellert smiled. "Mum, you know that man...The man who was tall, blonde and scary?"
"Yes, I remember him. When I asked you a few months ago, you said he wasn't my dad but I think that he might be...is he?"
Sarah looked awkward. She didn't really know what to say to Gellert. She didn't want to say no again and lie but she also didn't want Gellert to know.
"Yes...but I don't think you should have him as your dad...Annie said that I should go on a date with a new boy..."
"But if he is my dad, why can't I see him? Everyone else has a dad but me." Gellert frowned.
"That's not true...."
"It's easy for you to say, you chose to leave your family, I didn't..."
"I didn't ask your dad to leave me and never return. That was his choice not mine. I wish he stilled loved me but he doesn't..."
"Well he might not love you but I bet he loves me...and I'm going to prove it." Gellert stood up, stuffed the rest of his cheese sandwich into his mouth and walked out of the post office.
By the time Sarah got to the door of the post office, her son was nowhere to be seen...
