Chapter Four
Skyler's POV
He started at me for a while before leaning back into my couch and smirking at me.
I felt myself purr in satisfaction at the sight of him on my couch as I watched him lean back.
Stop that! I mentally kicked myself. This isn't a movie! He could be some really hot but very messed up serial killer! And you could be his next victim!
"So," He said, breaking up my thoughts. "What makes you think this is your apartment?"
I stared at him. "Well, for starters I bought it."
He continued to stare at me, not saying anything. I blinked at him.
Alright . . .?
"So," I continued, starting to talk to him like a I would a lost child. "Normally, when you buy something, that normally means it's yours!"
Still he continued to not say anything.
"So, since I bought this apartment . . . its mine!" I said as I nodded at him.
"You understand, yes?" I asked slowly. Had he hit his head during our little tussle?
He smiled at me. "You're beautiful you know that?"
"Yep, you need help." I said as I moved away from the wall and went to grab my phone off the counter. "Look, I'll just call the cops and we can get this all sorted-"
Again, before I could even dial the number his hand had grabbed my wrist making me jump. I looked back at him. How had he moved so fast? Had I hit my head?
His grip was firm yet gentle. I felt fear starting to overlap me as I felt an unnatural tingle go up my arm and down my spine.
"Okay, look buddy. Start talking before you and the plunger have another reunion. This is starting to get old." I growled as I glared at him. I was done with these little games of his.
"Fine," He said as his hand snaked its way to mine. I quickly moved back, shaking his hand off mine.
"Yeah, no." I said as I crossed my hands over my chest. "No touchy touchy."
His eyes tightened a little and I could have swore I saw a flash of hurt and anger on his face before it smoothed out into his normal annoying smirk.
"Do you believe in magic?" He asked, suddenly growing serious.
Uhhh. I failed to fight off the sarcastic comment that came flying out of my mouth. "Look, everyone has a right at some point in their life to be a creep. But you my freaky compadre, are severely abusing that privilege."
He looked at me, a look of shock on his face before he threw his head back and barked out a laugh. "Your sarcasm is very amusing." He chuckled, his emerald eyes glittering with amusement.
"It's one of my many superpowers. What's yours?" I asked trying to distract him as I started to ease away from him.
His eyes darkened before he cornered me. Placing both hands on either side of my head he trapped me against him. I was literally stuck between a rock and a hard place.
"Do you really want to know?" He whispered, his lips close to my ear, making me shiver. A blush blew across my face.
Oh dear lord, I think I already know. I thought smolderingly, it's the power of sexy. I can't wait to hear you roar . . .
