“I can’t believe he thinks he can kick me out of my condo!” I mumbled heatedly as I followed Alex’s Porsche out of the fancy condo complex. I caught myself staring back at the beautiful building through my rear view mirror, hoping that Nyx would appear and . . .

And what? Call me back? Back to my freaking condo that he thinks he can kick me out of? I don’t think so buddy! And what the hell was with these feeling of random sadness I kept feeling?

Oh! This whole situation was just pissing me off! I shuddered as another growled ripped its way through my body.

“Could you stop? You’re starting to sound like a default motor engine!” Alicia huffed next to me in the passenger seat.

“Sorry,” I growled back heatedly. “I’m just pissed that he thinks he can kick me out of my condo!”

“So I’m taking it that you don’t know that he owns that condo complex?” Alicia asked as she continued to stare blankly at the dashboard.

“What?” I gasped. “How the hell does he own something that he looks like a mini Taj Mahal?”

“I would think with money,” Alicia smiled, but there was a dark tremor in her voice. “But seriously though, get over it. He’s a disgusting player, you don’t want to get caught up in his mess. Too many girls have.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, curiosity and bit of jealousy boiling within me.

“I mean,” She sighed. “Maybe we don’t need to talk about this.” Alicia whispered, and I found myself shivering from the change in her attitude.

“Ok, but I have to admit, I’m not going to let him get away with this.” I smiled. “I really loved that condo.”

“That’s not the only thing you loved.” Alicia grinned, but there was a hard glint in her eyes.

“I’m sorry if I like to get attention from hot guys! Who wouldn’t?”

“True, but you would think slimy, lying, murdering assholes would be an exception.” Alicia mumbled.

“Wait, what?” I asked, as I glanced over at Alicia. “What do you mean by that?”

“What do I mean about what?”

“About the lying, murdering asshole part. What did he do? Are we talking about the same person?” I asked.

“If you mean us talking about Damon, then yes.” Alicia hissed as her fangs dropped in her mouth, giving her speech a hint of a garbled lisp. “That boy is exactly what is father wishes him to be. A lying, murdering demon!” She spat as hatred defiled her beautiful face.

“Wow, he obviously lit the fuse on your tampon.” I whispered through the thick, choking power that was starting to wrap around us like a constrictor to its prey. I could feel her power flutter rapidly around us, warming us to an unbelievably uncomfortable heat as her anger continued to grow.

This is such a bad idea . . . I thought as I started to roll down my window. I could find ways to deal with the heat of her anger, but my curiosity was stabbing right through my conscience and common sense. I needed to know!
