Chapter Twelve:

Unknown POV

I smiled in glee, licking my lips as I replayed the scene over again from earlier. The destruction, the mayhem, the chaos!

Magnificent. Simply Magnificent. I smiled as I sank down onto the bed in euphoria, the buzz ringing through my skull in an addictive tingle.

The girl. She was the one I had been waiting for this last millennia! The one that would aid me in my revenge.

A moan dragged me from my dark fantasies as my earlier snack had started to regain some form of consciousness. I rolled her with my shoe, disgust written across my face as my stomach twisted in revulsion.

I sighed.

You would think a princess of one of the top four 'Noble Kingdoms' would have been of higher quality life then what I had just consumed. I tucked in my fangs and walked over to the mirror. The whites of my eyes returned to being the normal white color compared to the inky black that had started to consume it. The dark circles and my sunken cheeks had filled and refreshed, giving me back my youthful appearance.

I smiled thinking of how soon, I would no longer need to worry over losing control. For soon, I would have my ultimate weapon, and my ultimate salvation.

I shivered in anticipation as a tugging of my soul turned me towards the shadowy corner of the room. A pair of sunken, blind, white eyes gleamed at me from above the shadowy portal. They turned from me towards the barely conscious girl in the girl.

"Do as you will," I waved my hand dismissively, turning to leave for the door, as the insidian crawled its mangled, distorted limbs out of the shadows, gurgling and gnashing its teeth at the girl on the ground. It crawled on the ground, having lost the ability to stand upright like the advanced species it had once been. It hesitated, cocking its head at the girl, running a gnarled, stretched, and broken hand over the girls hair. Her eyes fluttered open and turned towards the insidian. Her face paled as she sucked in a breath and screamed. The insidian smiled and clacked its teeth, dragging the girl by the teeth towards the shadows, her weakened screams silenced as soon as she had slipped through into the shadows.

It was getting harder to control the herd. They were coming more and more often, and I was running out of patience. I closed the door and headed towards the kitchen, ignoring the audience of milky, dead eyes that watched me hungrily from the shadows, waiting for the scraps I would bring home next.

"Soon, my pets." I promised as I grabbed a whiskey glass and the highest quality of liquor this pathetic world could offer. "Soon, it will be forever night, and I will extract every last ounce of purity this dying world is clinging to."
