Hey guys! This chapter might seem a bit confusing but I promise, in the long run ever thing will make sense. Remember, not everything is as it seems >:) Mwahaha! ( . . . . Like turtles, those things are weird . . . )

Chapter Seventeen:

The world swirled beneath me as I tried to push through the nauseating pain. It felt as if every blood vessel in my body had burst and I was swelling with boiling blood and fragmented bone chips that sliced at every internal organ inside my body.

“Is that the best you got?” I gasped as blood poured from my cracked and swollen lips.

A swift kick to my knees, knocking them back and out of joint sent me crying out in excruciating agony towards the floor. I sobbed as the pain wracked through me, pushing me closer and closer to the edge.

. . . I wish I was dead . . . Oh how so badly I wanted to be dead, to escape this overwhelming pain . . .

Fight! I heard Alicia push through my mind link. You have to fight back Skyler! I’m sorry for all that has happened but please, you can’t just give up!

Let me die, I though back weakly as my eye lids began to grow heavy and I could hear my slowing heart beat ring dimly in my ears.

“You know, I’m rather disappointed. I expected more of a fight from the fabled Girl of Legend.”

A sudden kick to my stomach stole the air straight from my lungs. I gasped, choking from the onslaught of bloodied saliva and the suffocating shock of pain as I curled in on myself.

He chuckled as he picked me up by my hair and leaned in close. I tried not to choke on his potent cologne I had once found appealing only days ago.

“What are you waiting for? Finish me . . .” I mumbled through the haze.

Just a little more, I smiled as the thought of a sweet escape just a mere breath away . . .

“Why don’t you beg a little more? I’m feeling a tad merciful today.” He smiled at me, his black eyes twinkling in sinister delight.

I growled as I spit bloodied saliva onto his deceiving angelic face. He laughed as he licked the spit from his face with his elongated tongue. I felt a shiver of disgust run through me as his tongue slowly licked my bruised and battered cheek.

“So tasty, so pure.” He purred as he looked deep into my swollen eyes. “I won’t kill you,” He murmured suddenly.

Shock and dread ran through me as I saw the way he was looking at me.

“No,” I moaned as tears dripped from my eyes. “No.” I tried to push against him weakly.

“Don’t worry,” He smiled as he gently ran his hand soothingly down my face, as if he were a lover instead of a demon toying with his kill. “You will be healed soon,”

“Why?” I gagged back the blood that poured into my mouth from the sudden slap he gave me.

“You should be grateful,” He snarled as a glimmer of insanity sparked from deep within his onyx eyes. “I’m making you my mate, after all.”

“No,” I begged hysterically. “No, please, no!” I sobbed as I pushed against him as he locked me painfully into his arms.

“Shh,” He cooed as he swept my bloodied hair over my shoulder to expose my neck.

I struggled, kicking and screaming as I felt his warm breath on my neck.

“No!” I saw his elongated fangs emerge as he closed in on my neck. I squeezed my eyes shut as I felt his warm breath flare on my flesh.
