"Kaise kahe kya hai sitam, sochte hain ab yeh hum
Koyi kaise kahe woh hai ya nahin humaare"It was absolutely dark outside, to some extent scary, just like how Kaya felt in her heart right now, pressed with thoughts she didn't want to entertain, with questions she did not want to answer to and with feelings she did not want to feel at all.
She had walked out of her room, frustrated, because she could not tolerate not being able to sleep at all, because she was done turning and tossing on her bed with her mind running to places she did not want to visit.
She did not understand how the night was becoming so tensed and gloomy when she had felt okay for the most part of the day.
The night was turning into those rare but crushing moments where she felt caged within her ownself, where she wished if she was not her only home, where she wanted to be everything she wasn't in her life right now, where she wouldn't want to be the only person caring for her, where she wouldn't be as proud and pompous she usually is about herself, about being on her own, about being her own, where she yearned for someone who'd hold her down, who'd sit with her to sort the choices she had made in life, who would let her know if she is right or not, who'd tell her if she deserves what she has or what she is going to have, who would know better if putting all of her at stake is worth it or not.
She fanned herself, with her nose more perceptive than ever, with her mouth open as she pushed air inside of her to calm her nerves down. Kaya inhaled and exhaled, constantly battling the thoughts of not wanting to survive and fight so alone, no matter she was used to it, no matter how much she knew how to do that.
Huge clouds hovered all over the night sky, with only a small part of the mountains uncovered, peeping through with their snowy high tips against the loud burble of the river flowing by. She was observing her surroundings when her eyes fell on him, across to her right, with his back against her as he leaned over the railing.
It was three and it seemed he had not even been to his room because he had not changed his clothes yet. He was still in his jet black leather jacket, and black pants and black shoes, same as what he had been wearing all day.
"You didn't sleep." She walked over to him and stood by his side. He'd a glass of whiskey in his hand and a cigarette in other.
"Hmm." He shrugged at her, at the stupid statement. "You see me here so." His eyes matched hers and her mind instantly thought of how his eyes were so angry &furious when
he saw her with Raghav that she felt it even from a distance. It sort of looked genuine on his part and that made Kaya feel weird, more like unprepared."You could be nice for once you know?" She spoke to him, slightly hurt by the tone he used, rude and unbothered and his eyes detached.
"I have never been nicer." He told her, taking a quick glance of her face before sipping his whiskey & looking into the mountains once again.
