30. Exposed
Aryan was so calm because he was all crazy from within, because he would fear no line if pushed to his limits, because he would tolerate no more than what he wanted to, because he could die for what he loved but kill too. He was built that way, serene from outside, fierce from within.
Kaya's heart pounded terribly loud as she walked towards the dinning table to his family with him after the traumatizing incident.
Kaya felt heat rise up her whole body every time she thought about Aryan hitting the metallic flower vase over Uncle's face. The mere possibility of it sent shivers down her spine.
Could Aryan kill to protect her, to revenge her hurt?? Was the love they had between them enough to make him kill someone? Were they there already where Kaya wanted them to be??? Was this what Kaya had been wanting to achieve??
Kaya looked up at Aryan for the answers but instead her heart ached. He was red in anger, his eyes super stern and cold as if nothing in the world affected him when she could feel the nerves of his arm throb with emotions in her hand.
She breathed heavily as she felt a piece of her heart break. The more Aryan tried to hide his pain and hurt, the more Kaya could see it in his eyes.
Kaya had no option but to faintly smile at his father as she pulled a chair next to Aryan on the table. Kaya could not believe she was amidst them, with Aryan, with his father, with his father's brother in-law. It was similar to a horrible dream to her, or worse a horrible reality. It was downright dreary.
"If you could sit in front of Kaya." Aryan spoke to his mother and his words sounded so different in his own voice only because they were addressed to his mom. It was not just Kaya's thought but she could see the awkwardness on all, his mother's face, his father's face as if he had talked to her after ages.
He probably asked to ensure Uncle Vishwas did not get a straight view of them, of her.
"I'm sorry, certain urgent duties." The Chief Minister stated, most likely to Aryan but he didn't even glance up.
Kaya had no clue what was she supposed to feel at the moment. She found herself torn in her own grief and fears but the ache on Aryan's face shattered her some extra.
