Battle Scars

Sarah sat in her car silently for a moment in their driveway.  She glanced over at Kakashi, who had just put on the seatbelt as she had instructed him.  She bit her lower lip, "So... I've been told that I'm a little scary when I drive.  I'll try to behave."

Kakashi looked over at her with wide eyes, "What do you mean by scary?"

"I drive a little fast and make quick moves," she admitted.

"Are you trying to put me off of being in this contraption?" he asked her next.

"No, just warning you ahead of time in case I forget this is your first conscious car ride."  She gave him a slight smile, "I promise to do my best not to freak you out.  Just remember, I know what I'm doing."

Kakashi was nervous now that she had said that!  She backed the car up before turning it around and starting down the road.  He felt a small amount of sweat roll down his neck as he tried to keep himself from getting nervous at how fast they actually went.  He had gone fast like this before but it was while being propelled by Naruto and Ninjutsu.  He had to admit that she did seem to know what she was doing but it was nerve wracking at first but the further they went he started relaxing.  He was intrigued by all the people in vehicles that propelled down the highway like themselves.  There was so many all clustered together.  The community they were in, just the little bit he had seen so far, was far larger than any village he had ever been in.

The Leaf had grown considerably but nothing like this.  He looked over at her as her eyes flicked between the road ahead and the mirror hanging from the windshield.  She moved her hands flawlessly, so used to doing what she was doing.

"This village is so large," he finally said.

"Believe it or not, there are much larger places than here that have millions of people living in them.  Some not that far from here," she said with a slight smile.

"Amazing," he breathed.

She turned off the road after a long while and turned into a large grouping of buildings that seemed to have all kinds of shops.  The parking lots, as she called them, were massive and packed with vehicles of all shapes and sizes.  "This is the Outlet Mall.  We should be able to get almost all of your clothes, shoes, and the like here."  She parked the vehicle and he got out after unbuckling the fastening device she had called a seatbelt.  "You know, we'll have to teach you how to drive sometime.  You already have a license so you'll just need to know how to do it."

Kakashi stared at her and she almost laughed.  The look he gave her was one of reluctance.  It was obvious that he was leery of driving one of the vehicles.  For his part, he remained silent as she locked the car and started towards one of the larger shops.  He came up alongside her and took her hand in his own.  She looked up at him in surprise.  He raised a brow in return.  He rubbed his naked chin with his other hand as they walked inside the large store.

"I feel almost naked without my mask," he admitted after a moment.

"If you would have been here a year ago, you would have been able to wear one without any questions asked," she chuckled.  "We had a virus going around and everyone was forced to wear them when out in public. I used to pretend that I was like you when I'd wear mine."

Kakashi laughed at the words, "You are an unusual woman, Sarah."

Sarah had a blast taking Kakashi around and finding him a new wardrobe.  He would come out of the dressing room and she would either give a thumbs up or make a face.  She really liked him in jeans, they emphasized his legs and that thick butt of his.  Ugh, she almost drooled the first time he came out in jeans.  She was really going to have to get herself under control if she didn't want to creep him out.  She had even got him to buy a couple of dress shirts, slacks, and a jacket for any interviews he might have later.  He was absolutely gorgeous in it.
