Again under Vanessa's command, Charlie wandered into The Crown bar - looking for Vanessa's ex-boyfriend; a barmaid walked up to Charlie, with a smile on her face, "Hey, cutie, what you wanting?"
"I'm just looking for your boss, David Lawson?" Charlie replied; the girl's smile soon vanished.
"Hey, aren't you that detective, Charlie Barker?" The girl asked, as she looked Charlie up and down; before Charlie could answer, a male's voice came from behind the female.
David was a muscular looking male, with dark brown hair and grey eyes, who looked serious about his business; he came out of a backroom with a cloth and a glass in his hand, "So, what you wanting to talk about then?"
"May I talk to you somewhere more private?" Charlie asked and the manager agreed; Charlie followed David through to the back room, so they could talk privately, "Well, I'm basically supposed to be undercover and someone told me your bar was to do with the case."
"Well," David questioned, waiting for an answer.
Charlie replied, "Well, it's in my car the case file, if you want to take a look,"
"Sure, take me to your car." David replied as Charlie led him to his land-rover, which was parked down the alleyway not far from the bar; Charlie unlocked his car and opened the passenger side door.
"I can't find anything," David leaned in to look for the case file; he heard a click and swivelled around to see Charlie pointing his gun at David.
"Try anything and I'll shoot you where you stand; now, get in the car." Charlie threatened, not once moving the gun; David instantly obeyed and got into the car.
Charlie had put handcuffs on to David, so he couldn't do anything. Oliver (the trainee) and another officer walked up to the car, obviously not noticing Charlie's gun, and Charlie wound down the passenger side window, so they could talk.
"Is there a problem, lads?" The older officer asked with a friendly smile.
"Nope," Charlie smiled as he secretly poked the gun into David's ribs; David nodded as he got the hint.
Charlie watched the officers walk away. Once they had gone, Charlie felt something sharp pierce his skin. Charlie turned towards David to see he held a knife in his hand. Charlie screamed in agony as he saw his arm was bleeding rapidly, seeping through his white shirt that he wore; the pain for Charlie was unbearable.
Charlie shot David with no hesitation, and then tried to cover his arm with his trench coat - so it would seize the bleeding a bit; Charlie said with a smirk, "I told you, if you tried anything, I would shoot."
Charlie drove to the reservoir, where he had dumped Tyler Roberts the previous night. He dragged the body of David Lawson down into the large ditch and left. The two officers waited once again until Charlie was in his car and had left, before they checked to see if he had done the job right, they saw he had.
