After going through, what seemed to Charlie now, the routine process, Vanessa ordered Charlie to bring Katie to her. As soon as Charlie was conscious again – which wasn’t long-, the two officers brought Charlie’s Land-Rover around and Charlie went off in to Katie’s apartment. Katie had quite the shock when he arrived at her door; she was in her off- the shoulder dress top with leggings underneath and her fluffy slippers on her feet.

“Hey, Charlie; what’s up?” Katie asked as she opened the door; she tucked a piece of her hair that was in her face behind her ear – it just fell back into place and she gave up on it.

“Hey, Kate; just thought I’d come for a chat.” Charlie replied as Katie let him in; he sat on the tan coloured corner couch.

Katie joined him, sitting not too far, but not too close to Charlie, “So, what do you want to chat about?”

“I just wanted to see if you would like to go out tonight?” Charlie asked, with a smirk on his face; Katie’s face beamed with delight.

“Really, this isn’t a prank you and those two officers were cooking up, that’s why they keep pulling you out?” Katie asked, folding her arms over her chest.

“No, of course not,” Charlie’s smirk changed to serious kind of glare; then he smiled, “And by the way, you do look extremely beautiful tonight.”

“Charlie…” Katie was about to something completely different to what had come out of her mouth, “I’d love to go out with you; so does this count as a date?”

“I guess you could say that.” Charlie smiled; Katie got up, went over to the shoe rack and picked up her red converse.

“Okay,” Katie tried to hide her blushing cheeks, but she could clearly see from Charlie’s smirk that he had seen her; Katie took hold of Charlie’s hand and pulled him off the couch, “Come on, then.”

“I’m coming,” Charlie continued to grin as Katie pulled him out the door; they both patted Sasha’s head before leaving, but she dodged Charlie’s pat – Katie hadn’t noticed as she was fumbling in her purse for her keys – so he just shut the door.

Katie locked her apartment door, and Charlie led her to his car. Charlie walked around to the passenger’s side, and then he opened the door for Katie to climb in, “You first, milady”

“Charlie, seriously, you are a flirt, but your gentlemen side makes it irresistible.” Katie giggled; Katie climbed in and buckled herself in as Charlie climbed into the driver’s side.

“Here put this on, I want the location to be a surprise.” Charlie handed Katie a blind fold, once he had settled into his seat; Katie looked at him with confusion, then shrugged and did as Charlie had asked.

After quite a long drive, Charlie eventually reached Vanessa’s laboratory without Katie noticing. Charlie got out first, after parking the car close to the entrance, and then guided Katie out and in through the entrance.

“Charlie, seriously where are we?” Katie asked; Vanessa had directed Charlie to seat Katie in the one of the two medium sized chairs, which were seated back-to-back.

“Charlie, could you do me another favour?” Vanessa whispered with quite a flirtatious tone; Vanessa handed a bread knife to Charlie, opening and closing his hand for him, “Could you kill her?”

“Wait, was that Vanessa, Charlie?” Katie continued to question, still with the blind fold over her eyes; she was beginning to panic now, so she took her blindfold off, letting out a gasp as she saw where she was.

Charlie ignored Vanessa and stayed stood where he was – directly in front Katie -. Vanessa kept repeating ‘Kill her’, but still got the same reply from Charlie. Vanessa was now screaming at Charlie, who refused to move toward Katie. Katie was now frightened out of her mind, but she knew exactly why Charlie didn’t have it in him to hurt her. While on their car journey to that place, Charlie had started a conversation on feelings, which usually wasn’t his kind of thing, so Katie brought up the topic if he loved her or not – he replied with a positive answer, ’yes’ – and she answered the same back when he had asked her the same.
