A while later, Charlie woke up on his apartment coach with the feeling of a nightmare again, but this time with a sharp pain in his forearm. He yelped in pain and took a look at his arm, as he walked to the kitchen. There was a large wound on his forearm and he could tell he had lost quite a lot of blood from just that wound - it was still seeping with a small amount when he looked -. After cleaning his wound up, Charlie grabbed a bandage from his first aid kit, which sat above the kitchen sink, and wrapped his wounded arm up.
"How the hell did that happen?" Charlie asked himself; suddenly he remembered that Vanessa had given him something that made him murder others for Vanessa.
Charlie quickly went off to work - after changing from his unbuttoned checked shirt and jeans into his white shirt, jeans, trench coat and black sneakers. Again Charlie noticed his dog hadn't moved from the exact same spot, still with his ears back, and not wanting to be moved. Charlie suggested to himself that Bolt had sensed what was going on.
Charlie quickly went off to work, stopping by the coffee shop to grab himself a hot chocolate - which he had been craving for the past two days due to stress-, he'd asked Katie through texting her if she would like one, but she didn't. Once paying for his drink, Charlie got in to his Land-rover and headed off to his work.
"Morning," Charlie greeted as he walked into his and Katie's room; he placed his cup on to his desk.
"More like afternoon, where have you been, Mr Barker?" Katie smiled as she looked up.
"Well, I had an accident," Charlie began, looking away from Katie's emerald green eyes
"Oh," Katie cocked an eyebrow; Charlie took his coat off, and then unbuttoned his shirt to show Katie the bandage on his forearm, "Charlie, how the hell did that happen?"
"You tell me; I just woke up to a sharp pain in my arm, when I looked there was a large wound on my forearm. It was still bleeding when I looked and after I had cleaned it." Charlie replied, as Katie took a closer look.
"Maybe you should get it checked out?" Katie suggested.
"I don't know; I mean it's not infected, so I see no need." Charlie said; he covered his arm up again, buttoning his shirt.
"Still, it might be safer; you said you don't know how you got it, so maybe it would be best?" Katie suggested; Charlie nodded in agreement, "I'll come with you if you want? I don't have Fay tonight, so I'm free."
"I'm gonna take Bolt out for a walk; he's acting pretty strange." Charlie told half the truth, "He's hiding in one of the corners in the kitchen, his ears are normally back and he doesn't want to be budged from the corner. So, I'm going to see if a walk might help, so I won't be able to; you know my dog always comes first."
"Okay, but I still think you should get that checked; maybe he's lonely because you work too hard?" Katie suggested, reluctantly going back to her work, "And yea I do."
