Under Vanessa’s command, Charlie goes off to The Murs Hotel – which was where Vanessa had worked before she was arrested – with sunglasses over his eyes and his hood of his trench coat over his face as a disguise. Charlie walked up to the front desk, casually, without a care in the world.
The female receptionist looked up at Charlie, stopping whatever she was doing behind the large desk, “May I help you sir?”
“Yes you can, sweetheart; I am looking for the manager, Tyler Roberts. I’m the reporter for the Best Hotel weekly.” Charlie told her as he took his hood down and tucked his sunglasses in to the collar of his shirt; she cocked an eyebrow.
“Hey, aren’t you Charlie Barker, the dete….” Before the woman could continue, there came a male voice.
“May I talk to you, my good sir?” It was the manager of the hotel – Tyler Roberts; Charlie followed the small man into a hushed corridor, where there were about two – three people.
“Detective Barker, what are you doing here?” the manager asked quite confused.
”I’m undercover, but I can’t talk here.” Charlie replied and led the small, grey haired man to the alleyway – not far from the neglected looking hotel.
“So, what’s the problem?” Tyler asked still slightly puzzled; Charlie looked around, and then took out a knife – covering Tyler’s mouth as he did so.
Charlie elegantly slit Tyler’s throat, without letting Tyler let out a scream or even a small whimper. Charlie dragged the now limp body of Tyler to his car and placed his sunglasses on to Tyler’s distorted face to try covering up the fact that Tyler Roberts was dead. Charlie also re-positioned Tyler’s shirt to cover the blood stained neck up. Charlie dragged the body to the closest reservoir and dumped it like he was garbage; Vanessa’s officers continued to watch Charlie until he had done the job and got into his car.
