Lexa POV:"Hey, where are you going?" She shouted from behind me.
I turned around and saw her running over to me after I left her standing in the classroom. I felt a small sense of pride at how I left her stunned for a moment.
"Work," I said, continuing to walk, but slower, as I let her catch up with me. "Oh," she said, kind of disappointed and I turned to look at her.
"What?" I asked, stopping my walk to look at her completely. She didn't say anything and just looked nervously at the ground. I know this. Something is nagging at her.
I placed my hand under her chin and lifted her face up to look at me since she wouldn't do it herself. "Clarke?" I asked as she was forced to look at me now.
"It's just- Where are you staying? Because I don't know if you are safe or not? I just- I just want to know you are ok," She finally said, her voice small and shy.
"I am safe Clarke I promise," I said, smiling and rubbing my thumb over her cheek. "Are you sure?" She asked and I gave her a reassuring smile that seems to ease some of her tension.
"Yes, and I have to go. I am going to be late," I said and she nodded her head. I gently kissed her on the cheek before smiling and walking away. I forgot how much my heart flutters around that girl.
But my smile quickly faded when I thought about what she asked me.
'Where are you staying?'
I knew where I was staying, I just didn't want to say it. Not even in my head. I mean, how do I tell her that I am staying in my childhood home where I have the worst memories, the most recent being where I shot my father because I haven't been able to sell it and get another place yet? It's only been a few days and I'm getting out of there soon but still. I don't know, maybe I should have told her but it's too late now.
I got into the bar where I work and went to the back room. I changed into a the black collared shirt that has the small logo in the corner and put my hair back in a ponytail. I clocked in and then went behind the bar.
I took a rag and wiped down the counter before I went to go get their orders. There weren't too many people today so it was kind of slow. I threw the rag over my shoulder before speaking to the customers sitting in front of me at the bar.
I had to mentally prepare myself for this.
"What can I get you?" I said with a friendly-fake-smile to the people in my section. There were three girls sitting next to each other.
They didn't answer my question at first but just started giggling like a bunch of maniacs. "Ok then," I said to myself, trying to tone down my sarcasm as I turned around.
I refilled their very, and extremely unnecessary, fruity drinks as they just watched me with big googly eyes.
I was poring one of the drinks when the door to the bar opened. I glanced briefly at the door and then chuckled at what I saw as I finished pouring the girls drinks.
I resisted the urge to violently pull my hand back as one of the girls rubbed my hand while I passed her the drink.
"Let me know if you need anything else," I said as I tapped the counter top and went over to an empty portion of the bar. I put both my hands on the counter and watched the group waltz in.
And I'm not kidding. They did it dramatically like they were walking on a runway or something. Or, at least, Raven and Octavia did it that way. The other people are more civil. I chuckled and put my head down as they walked over to me.
