From the dark and starless night above
A full moon hung and shone
Admiring its reflection in the still waters of Yunmeng
There near Lotus Pier
Where lotus flowers grew in abundance
And its seeds taste ever sweet to the tongue
Two lovers sat in a boat
One of light and one of night
As different as the bright sun and cold moon
Sharing a moment of silence before their final adventure soon
Among the lotus flowers that bloom
