On the Train to Hogwarts

I'm on the train to Hogwarts

A few hundred miles away

I can only hope you'll be there

When I arrive on that day

My dear friends, my only friends

You can understand

That Hogwarts is the only place that I call home

Oh Hogwarts, our dear Hogwarts

Hearth to those within your halls

Home to those within your walls

Guardian to the poor and highborn

Providing us safe haven with no fear of scorn

Nor of those who wish to cast evil

Or cause tremendous unheaval

No warm hug can you give

But surround us with your strong walls

Protecting us in a maternal embrace

You cannot speak

But your magic does

Assuring us you are here

Always there for us all

You're our home

But like baby birds

One day we must leave the nest

So teach us something please

Whether we're old or bald

Or young with scabby knees

Teach us something worth knowing

Pretty please

Teach us all that you know

Let us be the one to decide

The good and the bad

Bring back what we forgot

Teach us what we still have to learn

Don't be sad

Nor feel bad

When one of us falls from grace

Just do your best, we'll do the rest

Until the day, dear friend

We meet our end
