A boy did set aside his dread
And laid a hand upon a dragon's head
A Viking boy with a gentle hand
Who knew he would make a dragon friend
Whose hide is as black as the starless night
Yet with eyes that hold a soul so bright
As others went to war
For death was heard from dragon roar
A boy did stand
Alongside his dragon friend
To slay a beast
So that its' reign may cease
For them, a victory and fellow Vikings held a feast
For a real monster did they slay
And a bond made in a brand new way
There stood a Viking boy
Alongside his dragon friend in cheer and joy
