"You have to go now please" nasa veranda kami ngayon. Pagkatapos ng breakfast ay tumungo ako dito para mag palamig. Sumunod siya pinipilit parin ang kagustuhan niyang sumama ako sa kanya.
"I gave you a choice Aio. You can either come with me or I'll stay here with you"
"Hindi nga pwede! Silas ano ba?! Alam mong hindi pwede! Hindi tama iyon! Hindi ko pwedeng iwan si tita na ganito ang sitwasyon!"
"Hindi mo siya iiwan. Pumayag na nga ako diba? Hindi tayo lalayo, mananatili tayo dito sa La Hermosa pero kailangan mong lumipat sa akin. Buntis ka sa anak ko at hindi ako papayag na manatili ka rito, iba ang nag-aalaga sayo"
"What difference does it make? Maayos din naman ako dito."
He sighed, he stared at me "Pumayag ka na lilipat sa akin kapag nabuntis ka. Anong silbi ng usapan nating iyon?"
Umiwas ako ng tingin.
"I know, I promised. But please understand. I can't leave tita now. H-hindi niya iyon matatanggap!"
"At paano tayo? Paano ang anak natin?"
"We will last. We only need t-"
"We are falling apart! Can't you see? If I didn't sneak into your office yesterday I will not meet you. You don't even answer my calls! If we won't do something now, this will ruin us!"
Tinalikuran ko siya. Humawak ako sa glass barrier ng veranda, hindi na siya tinignan.
"I will talk to your tita. Hindi maling iuwi kita dahil asawa kita. Dapat ngayon, wala ka na sa poder niya!"
"What do you mean by that?!" naalarma ako.
"I will tell her we're married! You are married to me so you should stay with me!" He fired back.
"You promised you won't!"
"Like how you promised me you'll move-in with me when you get pregnant? Really?" He mocked.
Suminghap ako, hindi niya iyon gagawin!
"Our marriage isn't registered!" I shouted. Hindi siya paniniwalaan ni tita dahil hindi rehistrado ang kasal.
He look at me shocked. His brows met, his jaw moved. He look at me with dagger eyes.
"Is that the best you can give? Because our marriage isn't registered?! Hindi pa rehistrado pero may bisa iyon! Both of us are in legal age, both have the capacity to contract marriage. We have witnesses, photos, videos of the whole ceremony, marriage certificate I have them all! Our marriage was also consummated, my child in your womb can prove that! Pari ang nagkasal sa atin. Hindi lang rehistrado pero legal at may bisa iyon alam mo yan! Ano pa ang irarason mo para layuan ako?!" he shouted like thunder.
Matutulis ang mga mata niyang humamon sa akin. Sinigurado niyang kita ko doon ang matinding galit at pagkadismaya niya sa akin.
Muli ay umiwas ako ng tingin, agad napagtanto ang malaking pagkakamali. Tumulo ang mga luha ko na agad ko ding pinahid.
"Ganon lang ang tingin mo sa kasal natin Aio? You vowed! You don't honor the sacrament matrimony?! Just because it isn't registered? Then I will fucking register our marriage now!"
Umiling ako, hindi nakapag salita.
I don't know why I said that. I hate myself that I said that.
"I'm sorry" it's almost a whisper.
Nagpakawala siya ng sarkastikong ngisi.
"I'm sorry. H-hindi naman sa ganon Silas. I value my vow, it will always be you but please try to understand. This is not the time to tell her. Please, let me stay here for few more months. I will tell her soon but not now" pakiusap ko.
