Weeks had gone by since Fred lashed out on Samantha. She had spent the entirety of the afternoon in the library with George by her side after Cedric left. It wasn't long before Fred and Lee had come to join them, the latter glaring at Fred until the redhead spit out an apology. Sam could tell he was being sincere, as his eyebrows were creased and his lips formed an almost unnoticeable pout. It wasn't long before he was smiling again due to her forgiveness, causing the boys to start rambling about pranks and teachers while she read the first chapter of her arithmancy books.

It may have seemed as over done to prepare classes before they had even started, but it turned out to be a very smart decision. As soon as her schooldays started, she was overloaded with work. Every teacher speeded through their material like madmen, causing the poor fifth-years to drown in tasks, essays and homework by the end of the week.

The first weeks went by exceedingly fast for Sam, retreating to the library or her dorm, which she shared with Ella, to study and catch up on classes she didn't completely understand. Her friends ended up hanging around her study spots quite frequently as they kept her company. George knew especially how stressed Sam actually was about her OWL-year, so he always scolded the boys for being too loud when they were around her.

The chosen spot that day was at the black lake, under a big tree on a thick grey blanket. George and Lee had followed her there, scaring the life out of her when they jumped up from behind her and sprawled themselves out on the ground. Fred wasn't joining them because he was busy following Raphaëlla around the castle while trying to find out more about her. Sam had scolded him multiple times for basically being a creep, but he wouldn't budge.

He found out that they had a few classes together, leading up to his first conversation with her. She was sent out of the classroom to go cool off after a heated argument with another student and Fred followed her. They had talked for the first time that day, and even though she was quite obviously annoyed by his presence he had become obsessed ever since.

Sam was finishing up the last few things on her potions essay when Lee interrupted their silent bubble by talking about the tournament that was coming up," Did you and Fred figure out a way to put your names in that goblet yet?"

George perked up at hearing about their plans to join the tournament, even though they weren't seventeen yet. He answered as a large grin spread over his face,"Yes actually. We were thinking about an aging potion, but in that case we would need help from dear Samantha over here."

She looked up from her papers and met his brown eyes. He was pouting and blinking an unnatural amount of times, in hopes of convincing her.

"And dear Samantha over here still refuses." she smiled back before continuing her work.

The redhead across from her groaned loudly as he sat upright and grabbed her stuff from her hands. "Come on Sammie, why won't you help us?"

"Because I won't George. It's that simple." she huffed as she gave up trying to get her things back.

He kept on whining while Lee looked at him with an amused expression in his eyes. It seemed like George wasn't stopping his childlike behaviour and Sam was growing sick of having the same argument over and over again. The boys had asked her more than once if she would help them make their potion. Even though she knew it wouldn't work either way, she didn't want to participate in their plan. Harmless pranks were one thing, but trying to get your name in a goblet that chooses people to risk their lives in some stupid tournament was completely different.

She was growing tired of them not taking no for an answer, causing her to lash out towards George for the first time in years," Stop it! My answer is no George. Stop acting like an eight-year-old and respect my decision. I can't believe you have to bring this up every single time, I won't make your potion. End of story."
