3rd Person P.O.V
Serenity knew what she wanted and she wasn't about to stop until she got it. She was on her way to Renée's and she just got off the phone with Nicki.
When she pulled up and went upstairs. She knew the door was open from Nicki just leaving a few minutes ago.
When she entered the apartment she went to Renée's door and knocked.
"Nicki I really don't wanna be bothered right now." She said unknowingly.
"Even if it's me?" She said and Renée lifted up from the bed and looked towards the door.
"Serenity? What are doing here?"
"Came to see you." She responded while sitting on the bed.
"Why?"
"Heard you broke up with Raven." Renèe sank at those words and leaned back.
"I let her walk over me." She said referencing Serenity's words.
"I shouldn't have said that."
"You were right. I let her think I was stupid that she had power over me." Serenity didn't really know what to say after that. Renée continued after a beat of silence. "I came over to argue with you when all you were trying to do was help."
"It's ok." Serenity said quietly.
"And I understand if you hate me because I hate myself." She was on the verge of tears and Serenity hated seeing her like this.
"Hey, I don't hate you. I could never hate you." She said and went to hug the girl that was now crying.
"I would understand if you did. I deserve it."
"You don't. I love you Renée. I don't care if 20 years past I will never stop loving you so stop thinking like that."
"You mean that?" Renée looked into Serenity eyes and she nodded. "I love you too. Maybe breaking up wasn't the best idea."
"No don't do that. You were right we needed that time away from each other. To grow as people and we did." She said. She hated when Renée would second guess herself. Doubt her choices to make other people happy.
"Did I though?" She didn't feel like she had changed but Serenity knew she did. They both did.
"Yes. Look at you a successful ass nightclub. A nice ass apartment. And I bet you making bank too." Serenity said and Renée cracked a small smile.
"I guess you right."
"I know I'm right." She nudged Renée a lil and they leaned against each other.
"I missed you."
"I missed you too."
After a minute of silence between the girls. Them enjoying being with each other after so long. Renée remembered something soon after, breaking the silence.
"You kept it."
"Kept what?" She said confused.
"The voicemail I sent you."
"How did you?"
"When we exchanged numbers I saw it." She said clearing up her confusion that soon turned to embarrassment.
"Mmm...yeah I did. It was sorta motivation for me honestly." She said remembering how she listen to the voicemail everyday so she would keep good on her promise of changing and growing.
"I wish I could've kept some pictures but I might've dropped my phone in water then ran it over by accident." She chose not to go into detail about that whole incident.
"How did-nevermind. I gotchu look." She said laughing a lil then getting up and going towards her closet. She came out after a min with a phone. "See."
"Is this your old phone?" Serenity asked.
"Yeah I kept this one because it had all our pictures and shit on it." She turned it on and went to all her photos. A whole album dedicated to their relationship.
"Aww aye you remember this?" She said pointing out a certain photo that Renée hated.
"Yeah I told you not take it." Renée said rolling her eyes.
"You look adorable when your pouting." Serenity said laughing and continued scrolling.
They reminisced for awhile. Going through old photos and videos. Talking about each and every one of them. It got late and they were still in Renée's bed now watching TV.
The whole night Serenity could feel the hesitation coming from Renée. The doubt she was drowning in. Serenity figured she should ease the girls worries.
"Hey Renèe."
"Yeah?" She looked up and looked Serenity in the eyes.
"You know I'm all for this. Whatever pace you wanna take it at I'm here. I'm not going nowhere." Serenity said and every word she uttered held emotion.
"You mean it?" Renée asked. She couldn't deny she was scared about this whole thing. She didn't want to mess it up again but Serenity's words eased her mind. It brung her a sense of security.
"Yeah so stop worrying." She said and kissed her forehead and cuddled back into her.
Not matter what the future held they would go through it together.
