Roux carried me outside of his house until we reached the Hummer. Quickly, he placed me inside before running off to the drivers side. Once we were on the highway I spoke. "Okay, mind telling me what's going on now!?!" I practically shouted.

"Can we talk about this a bit later!" His eyes kept shifting from the road to the review mirror.

"Who are those people, Roux?" I demanded.

BAM! I heard something crash on the side of the road. I stared behind me to see blinding tail lights. The car behind us was a golden Lamborghini. "Damn it!" Roux smacked the wheel. All of a sudden the Hummer's dashboard reared to life. I wasn't exactly sure how many buttons were on the dashboard, but their lights lit up the interior of the car. Roux pressed a button and the weight of the car shifted. I glanced back to see that he had just launched two missiles at the car behind us. With my mouth agape and Roux chuckling to him, flames were all I saw.

"Are they following us, Roux?" I whispered. He glared at the review mirror again. I follows his led. The golden Lamborghini burst out of the flames, I gasped.

"Shit!" He laughed. He glances at me. "I definitely underestimated these guys." It was the first time he'd actually looked at me since the people chasing us broke in. His green eyes were emerald and intense. His blonde hair had fallen in to his forehead.

"Why were you dying your hair, Roux?" I asked softly. He cleared his throat and focused on the roared again. His bit his bottom lip hard. It looked like he was debating whether or not to tell me. He sighed and pulled on his hair frustrated.

"Because I was trying to hide from them." He pointed back at the mysterious golden car. Another flash came from behind us. I heard a tire pop. Roux pressed another button and the car leveled itself. "Alright, enough of this." He held on to three buttons. I heard three burst, then another flash. He speed the car and cut through the side land of the highway. He drove his car in to an abandoned alley.

"Who are they?" I asked again. A light flashed behind us.

"Come here!" He reached over for me and pulled me down, on top of him. He shoved his chair back until we were lying down. Even though I sort of hated Roux with a burning passion, I felt safe lying in his arms. I listened to his breathing pattern until he finally said: "They're hunters." His voice was so quiet and gentle that I had hardly noticed, he'd even spoken.

"Hunters of what?"

"Can we not get in to this discussion right now? I never know who's listening in on these things." His tone was light, but I knew he wouldn't continue.

"Fine." I said after a moment. "But when were you planning to tell me that you were blonde?" I joked. He chuckled under me and it actually felt nice. He lifted his arm and for a moment I thought he might hug me, instead he raised his chair before glancing around.

"I think we're safe for now." He looked down at me. I climbed off of him.

"So where are we going to now?" I asked once I returned to my seat.

"Um, my place." He said nonchalantly as he turned on to the main road.

I gave him an I-can't-believe-you look. "You mean the one we just escaped?" My voice sounded harsh, even to me.

He gave me his signature cocky grin. "I do own multiple homes, you know." He teased.

I scowled at him. "How many homes do you own?" I raised an eyebrow.

"The question isn't how many homes I own, but how many homes I don't own." He said smoothly with a cool smile on his lips.

I giggled. "So you're rich and now you're a blonde? I'm getting very suspicious of you, Roux." I joked.

He just signed and kept his eyes on the road. I wondered what he could've been thinking about, but I was too afraid to break the silence. I began to notice whenever Roux was upset, disappointed, mad, or even thinking he'd go in to this deep silence. But it wasn't normal silence, it was scary silence. The kind that made you doubt everything about yourself and made you feel guilty. It bothered me, gravely, that silence.

"We're here." His voice was gruff and he sounded tired.

I gave him a sad smile. His other 'house' was just a small lot in a step part of the woods just outside the city of Dallas. Once he parked his car I turned to him. "Are you going to explain now?" I pressed.

He shook head. "I really hoped that it wouldn't come to this." He started.

I squinted. "Come to what, Roux? Just tell me already." I encouraged.

He gave me a worried look. He looked so sad that it nearly broke my heart. "I lied, Rider." He ran a frustrated hand through his now slightly dirty blonde hair. "I....I've been involved in some....Uh, bad stuff and, um, now those people that are chasing us....well, it's because I'm in a shit load of trouble."

I rolled my eyes. "Obviously! I need more details than that, Roux."

"I don't think you want the details." His eyes begging.

"Why not?"

He looked around a bit until he gave up, sighed, and settled a troubled glance on me. "I'm dangerous, Rider....I, um, use to kill people."

I gulped. What was I suppose to say to that? "Uh, for like a living?" Was the first question that came to mind.

He chuckled. "I guess you could say that."

"There's more you aren't telling me." I said matter-of-factily.

"So?" He said with obvious attitude.

I scowled. "Who are those people then?"

"I told you." He cleared his throat. "They're hunters."

"So....they hunt...Uh, assassins?"

He roared into laughter. "Um, yeah. You could say that." He smiled, but it felt forced.

I smacked his shoulder and 'ugh'ed irritated. "Why can't you just tell me the whole truth?"

He shoved me away from him. "Because I don't trust you." He said sharply. "Now let's get inside, it's getting late." He said, sternly.

"No!"

He faced me. "Why the hell not!?!" He snapped.

"Because you kill people for a living and you can't trust me!?! How do you expect me to live with you, to even look at you!?! I can't trust you!" I shouted before storming out of the car.

"Rider! Stop!" He yelled after me.

I turned. "Why?"

"Ugh!" He paced impatiently. "Because I know the real reason why your parents died."

Tears filled my eyes and I was left speechless. How could he know that?

I totally just uploaded on my iPod! :D isn't that amazing!?!?! Anyhow tell me what you think?
