Rider’s P.O.V
“Are you insane!” He said through a clenched jaw. “I could kill you.”
“I know you won’t. Stopping making such a huge deal. If we die tomorrow at least we won’t have to regret not being together.” I stated.
He didn’t answer me. Instead he held my head in his hand and brought me closer to him. His lips scraped across mine and I felt the heat coarse through me.
“I’m not doing this.” His green eyes held mine, steadily. “I won’t ruin you.” He frowned as his eyes studied me. “Now get some sleep. We have a long day ahead of us.” I frowned, but submitted. I knew Roux was being serious and I couldn’t risk him getting distracted with both our lives at risk. I got into bed quietly, watching him as he slide off his shirt and rested on the sofa across from me.
I shut my eyes and waited until unconsciousness captured me. It didn’t take long for my dreams to capture me. “Rider…come closer.” I voice whispered to me cruelly. I was in a darkened alley. There was shadows all around, but there seemed to be one particular spot that was darker than the rest. Something was slithering on the floor and I couldn’t help, but think of a snake.
“Who’s there?” I asked. I could feel my back sinking against the wall behind me. Suddenly, there was a flash of bright light coming from the rear exit, I hadn’t even noticed. Illyria was there. Her hair glowing in the wind as her slivery whip crackled against the ground. Her body armor suit glowing pink in the dull darkness. Fetillo’s olive skin came into view. His armor a darkish blue that demanded attention.
“Rider.” Illyria’s voice chimed. Her voice was deeper than I had expected. “This is not a dream. We’ve been trying to contact you.”
                              “Why?” I questioned.
“Because we are here to protect you and human life.” She stated.
“But you’re not human yourself.” I added. “So how can I trust you.”
She shook her head. “I am part human.” She smiled. “You cannot always believe the words Roux De Loin tells you.”
“Why is that? He’s been trying to protect me.” I stepped back as she drew near. My vision shifted to Fetillo who appeared slightly bored.
“Yes, we have received the news.” She was close to me now. She tucked back my hair. “Tell him we will make a deal. We will guarantee both your safety if he will join forces with us.”
My eyebrows rose. “Why would you want to join forces with him?”
She grinned. “Tell him there’s parts of the story you are both missing. And tell him, Plato is back. And joining forced with his damned father.” She said right before she disappeared.
I woke up soaked in my own sweat. My chest rising and falling, quicker than usual. I glanced around the room and rolled off the bed. The floor freezing cold. “Rider!” Roux shouted before he ran up to me.
“Th-they sent me a message.” My teeth chattered.
“Who did, sweetie?” He patted my hair down.
“The Adumbration.” I coughed. I glanced up at his puzzled eyes. “Illyria told me she’s part human. How is that possible. I thought they were some alien force.”
Roux shook his head. “They’re Nephilim.” He explained. “Which means part human, part angel. Angels are the protectors of the world, but when they started having affairs with humans, God punished the angels by damning their kids to earth and holding them responsible for it.”
“So they can never live a normal life or see their angel parents?” I asked.
“No.” He guided me back on the bed. “Now, what did Illyria say?”
As I recalled to him the events of my dream, his eyes widened when I mentioned Plato. “What’s Plato?” I asked him curiously.
“It’s not a what. It’s a who, and her actual name is Lilith.” He sounded disgusted as he said the name.
                              “Who is she then?”
“The mother of all demons. Now my question is what is she doing in alliance with my family?” He paced back and forth.
“Maybe-” He raised his hand and paused my idea.
“I need Cairo.” He said before hauling out his cell phone. “What were you saying?” He gawked at me.
“Maybe their planning to overtake mankind?” I suggested.
“Let’s hope not.” Roux exclaimed. “Cairo, supposedly Lilith is involved.” He said. All I heard were bits and pieces of the conversation. “No, I don’t know who set her free.”
“They contacted Rider in her dreams.” He paused to watch me. “They want to set up a meeting.” Then suddenly, Roux’s eyes grew pitch black. “What do you mean they’ve got Aria?”
My head shot up. I thought Aria was dead?

Teen FictionI've been living in an orphanage pretty much all my life. I never really understood the purpose of my parents dying and leaving me behind...I'd always thought I didn't belong here. Maybe I should've been with them...I should've died, but then I met...
