"Damn it, I'm so hungry my arm isn't regenerating fast enough!"

I looked around paying close attention to the sounds

"There should be a town nearby come on let's get moving"

We slide down a hill and stop midway next to a tree where Kawaki leans "What is it"

"I've lost too much blood"

"We're almost there just hang on a little more"

We hid behind boxes watching as a man cooked meat

Kawaki's stomach grumbled

"I could steal one..I've been stealing things at a young age but.." I looked forward

"We can't draw any attention" Kawaki said

"Yeah..." I shook my head "Come on We shouldn't be wasting time now" I stood up and jogged to the back Kawaki following right behind me

"There should be at least a small amount of food here.." I mumbled as I check the trash

"There isn't anything decent"

A piece of bread fell into the ground and Kawaki picked it up

We looked to our side seeing a stray dog with a scar in it's head I stood in front of Kawaki "Sorry little one but we found this first"

The dog only growled more before running at us I moved to the side and grabbed the back of it's neck lifting it up

It struggled against my grip I just smiled at the dog inspecting it's body it's injured leg caught my attention

"It seems your quite the thief, just like me" I mumbled I looked at Kawaki "Hold it's body down for me will ya?"

Kawaki held the dogs body down while I ripped off the sleeve of my gown to tie up it's wounded leg

"Done"

Kawaki let's go of the dog. The dog immediately jumped back

"Good dog, you shouldn't trust people just because they show you an act of kindness"

Kawaki threw the bread at the dog "But-" "Like I'd eat something covered in dirt" he cut me off

I rolled my eyes "At least make up a better excuse"

We kept on walking the dog following behind us Kawaki bended down and grabbed a can

"Stop following us-!" I grabbed his wrist making him drop the can

"I like this fella" I bend down the dog walked closer yet it kept it's distance "Steal to survive is what we live by isn't that right?" The dog just barked in response before running away

"I shouldn't have gave the dog that damn bread"

"You know why you did it?" I asked Kawaki just stared at me

"Por pendejo"

Kawaki stayed silent for a couple of minutes before groaning

The dog came back with food I slightly bowed my head in thanks the dog stood there for a second before bowing as well

A knife was thrown cutting the dogs stomach "It's over for you, you damn mutt!" The man lifted the dogs leg

I tapped him on the shoulder he turned his face towards me

"Get your damn hands off the dog" the man glared at me "Don't tell me what to do you brat-!" The man launched himself towards me

"Keep away from her"

Kawaki's injured arm transformed, the man backed up "Y-You monsters!" He yelled and ran

I tilt my head to the side "What the hell are you looking at? Do you have a death wish?"

She stared at me for a couple of seconds "Let me help you heal the dogs wound"

She walked towards the dog and sprayed foam into the dog's wound

"The wound should heal up shortly, let me see your wound" She said and reached over to Kawaki

I pushed her back to the wall my arm on her neck causing her to have difficulty breathing

"Keep your distance with us we don't trust you fully just because you healed the dogs wound"

I let go of her and return to my spot

"I'm sorry about Nue..."

Kawaki grabbed the meat on the ground and started eating it "I thought you wouldn't eat something in dirt" I whispered

"I don't remember saying that"

The dog and I just glared at him while Kawaki just rolled his eyes "Unbelievable you two are just the same"

"Lord Hokage is apparently heading here to talk to you both himself "

"So? Who cares? He's probably just interested in what our bodies can do. We don't trust adults, we don't trust kids like you either"

The girl looked down "I know how it feels not to trust anybody around you" I tilt my head to the side "My father implanted a weapon into my body as well"

Kawaki and I stood up "Why are you telling us this?" I asked, she smiled "I have a feeling you both may have a harsh past"

I narrowed my eyes "Damn it... I'm still dizzy"

The girl searched for something in her bag. She took out a tube with yellow liquid inside she opened it revealing a needle

I grabbed her by the neck "I've had it with you damn people injecting things into his body" I tightened my grip

The dog started barking at Nue who growled back "Nue...don't"

"Let go of the class rep!"

"Boruto.."

Kawaki and I looked around, we were surrounded

"I get it, you were just buying time weren't you!?" Kawaki yelled I tightened my grip

Nue tried jumping on me but the dog got a hold of him shaking him before throwing him to the wall

The people who surrounded us pointed their fists at us shooting fire I picked up the dog and moved out of the way

"Will you keep up?" I asked, the dog nodded and jumped out of my arms running with us

We were surrounded again, they shot fire at us again I stood in front of the dog and Kawaki

I activated my karma, absorbing the fire

"I'll show you what true power is like!" I lifted my arm up and aimed at the enemy

Kawaki shoved my arm away before I could hit anyone

"What the hell!?" Kawaki only looked away

"Why did you do that!? We've never cared about anyone but ourselves to this point!"

"I don't know okay!?"

A man stood in front of us, just smiling down at us

"There's no need for the both of you to be afraid I promise your safe with me"

"Shut up!" Kawaki yelled and went in for a weak punch

Seconds later he passed out I fell to my knees and fell forward, exhausted. Lord 7th was quick to react and caught me before I hit the ground

"Well now that that's settled let's head back" He stood up carring both of you the dog kept barking not trusting him

Boruto looked at the dog "Hey dad? Do you think we could take this dog with us?"
