Alternative Ending

I felt too depressed to leave the book ending like this so here's another ending.

It's short but it'll do. Everyone's alive btw

Kawaki sat up from his bed in panic sweat ran down his face

He looked to his side

And there you were

Sleeping peacefully

You were alive

He sighed in relief before gently touching your face

~"No! Don't take her! Please! She's all I have left! Don't take her away from me!"

Kawaki yelled as he tried to get the shadows off of him

"Y/n!" He yelled again

As the shadow figures took you away Kawaki confessed his apologies

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry I didn't realize it sooner! I'm sorry for not realizing you were in pain!"

"Kawaki"

"Y/n!"

Y/n used her remaining power to get herself off of the shadow figures and run to Kawaki

She got a hold of Kawaki's hand and made a jump for it

We were both pretty high up because of the lower gravity. Normally jumps like this were easy for you to handle but in the condition you were in it seemed almost impossible

Kawaki had you wrap yourself around him mid air

Your legs around his waist and arms around his neck

"Hey Kawaki?"

Kawaki hummed in response

"Did you mean all that?" I asked

Kawakis grip on me tightened on me a bit

"Yes"

I rested my head on his shoulder

"What do you know of my pain anyway?" I mumbled. Tears were already threatening to spill

"I would give anything to feel it"

That was the final straw for me

Tears trailed down my face as I cried onto his shoulder

So many years of keeping my tears locked up and they were bursting out with a few words of someone who I love dearly

We landed on the ground

"Ne Y/n? Let's run away together. Let's forget all this and start new"

He only heard your sobs for a few seconds before hearing a response

"Okay"

He smiled and ran from Konoha in hopes to start new and make you truly smile

Kawaki smiled. Glad that you were truly by his side now

He layed back down watching you slowly open your eyes

"Nightmare again?" I asked

He nodded

I pulled him closer. Spooning him while running my fingers through his hair

"As I much as I want us to be like this forever" I started

"You need to wake up"

"Kawaki! You're finally awake!" Boruto yelled

He and Hinata jumped at him hugging him

"You've been in a coma for so long I thought you'd never wake up!" Hinata cried

Coma? Kawaki asked himself

He looked to his side seeing you there

I smiled at him

"You finally woke up"

My smile was soon replaced by a sad one

"Y/n? You're here too. . ." Kawaki muttered

Boruto let's go of Kawaki looking at him with a questioning look

"Y/n?"

Hinata seemed to get an idea of where things were headed

She took ahold of Kawaki's hand before speaking

"Kawaki, Y/n's dead"

"Dead?" Kawaki asked "But she's right here. Standing beside me"

Boruto looked at Sakura wanting an explanation

Sakura gripped her clipboard

"He's been diagnosed with schizophrenia"

"schizophrenia"

Basically another words for hallucinating
