The Forgotten Ones

Chapter 5

She needs to come over. Thats all I need. But how? Do I just ask her? Do I trick her? No. No, I cant trick her. I'll just ask her if she wants  to hang out one day during 5th period.

Im walking down the void hallway when I'm stopped. Its Jake. "Hey, look at you...you look so much better" I say.

"I know, I feel so much better thank you for everything" he says, his eyes filled with wonder and his face less pale. I wrap my arms around his neck, say bye, and continue towards 4th period, Chemistry.

Mrs. Smith is in a good mood so she lets us watch a movie of our choice. All the girls want to watch "The Fault in Our Stars" and since our class is mostly girls, we do. During the movie, I catch up with Kate and tell her everything that has happened with Jake and me. " Oohh you go girl " she enthusiastically says.

" Oh, shut up " I laugh.

That's pretty much how our relationship works.

Period 4 flies by and next thing I know, Im in Mr.Harrison's class. I search the room and find Alexa. But she's not the same Alexa I saw yesterday.

Her face is bright, her eyes are full of joy, and this time she actually raises her hand to answer a question. Still, no one notices her.

She needs this makeover.

After class, I go up to her. I try not to jump right into asking her, so I start a friendly converstions first. Finally, I do ask. "So, I was wondering....maybe we can hang out and watch a movie...or maybe give each other makeovers?"

I was expecting a no or a why but instead I get a "sure." Okay, great, I say, I'll see you at 4."

The next few periods of the day go threw with a breeze, and it soon is lunch time. I look for Kate, and we walk into the cafeteria together. I think of telling her what has been happening with the letter but I decide not to until I know who it is.

After picking up my turkey burger and gatorade, me and Kate grab a seat near Jake. We all talk the whole period until Katherine comes up to us.

" I heard you made plans with that loser Alexa. Doesn't suprise me, you both are low - lifes anyways " she snorts

" Why don't you just leave?" Kate says trying to defend me.

" Fine, I dont want to be seen with you people anyways." she remarks

" I hate her so much. " I grit my teeth at her ignorance

" Just ignore her, its okay. She'll stop being a bitch eventually..." Jake states.

We dont talk about her the rest of the period.

School's finally over when I approach my locker.

There's another envelope. I open it. You're doing great so far, keep up the good work. P.s: I did hurt him. It doesnt suprise me at all that this person hurt Jake. It just makes me wanting to find out who is sending me these letters even more.

After I pack up my stuff, I head home. I take out makeup, jewelry, and clothes. I need to make sure that when Alexa comes, she chooses what she wants...not what I want her to have.

At about 3:45 Alexa arrives. We go into my room, and get started. She asks for the opposite of what I thought. She wants red lipstick, a black dress, gold earrings, and wing eyeliner. I do the best I can, and when I finish she doesnt look the same. She looks prettier, older and more sure of herself.

When she sees herself, she looks like she's about to faint. "THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!" she exclaims. I tell her that before she was beautiful on the inside and now she is on the out too.

"The same goes for you, she says, only your by far prettier."

She leaves at about 7 with a new face, dress, and makeup.

Im proud of what I have done today, but I'm scared to see what my next task will be.
