I woke up to find myself still in Katherine's bed but she wasn't in the room at all. I really fucked up but I guess that's what I deserve for getting carried away with drinking. I looked around the rest of the house to see where Katherine was but instead, I found a note on the table.

Feel free to wash up. You reek of alcohol! :P -K

I couldn't help but smile a bit. I bet she left so she wouldn't have to face me after what happened. I went to the restroom and sure enough, there was an extra brush laid out for me. After that, I grabbed a few of her clothes so I could shower as both me and my clothes stunk. She shouldn't mind after all the note said for me to help myself to anything... Well, I'm just going to assume it said that in invisible ink. I just hoped she wouldn't get back until I was out of the house, otherwise, things would be awkward.

I got back home to find my dad grinning. "You didn't call me."

"I... didn't realize I was staying over..."

"You know even if you don't love her, or think you don't. You're good for her." He said with a smile.

"What's that supposed-?"

"I found someone to show you around." He interrupted.

"Okay..."

"You can come in." He yelled.

Katherine walked in with a not-at-all-happy expression.

"You forgot to mention the girl was your daughter." She said glaring at my dad.

"Oh did I? Oh well." He smiled.

What was going on? I felt like I was missing something.

My dad left, leaving Katherine and me standing there awkwardly.

"Listen, Katherine-." I started.

"I know you were drunk... it's fine. Let's just go." She smiled as she walked away.

I could tell she forced it.

She suddenly stopped and turned to look at me.

"Are you wearing my clothes?"

"Uh... yeah. Is that okay?"

She nodded turning away from me but I still caught a sincere smile. I followed her to another room that was pitch dark.

"What are we doing here?" I asked.

"I'm too lazy to show you around. the whole world, so this will do." She rolled out a map with pictures showing me what this planet held.

"There are a few places I want to show you in person though." She continued.

After looking over the map for some time, she took me to this amazing forest.

"Wow. This is beautiful." I said in awe.

Words couldn't describe how cool this place was.

"I like coming here... it's always quiet which is nice." She said looking up at the red leaves.

She looked so calm at this moment, peaceful even.

"What are you smiling about?" She asked snapping me out of my daze.

"Nothing," I said, smile never leaving.

She stared at me for a while as if trying to figure me out. I tried so hard not to laugh at her puzzled face.

"In that case, let's go. We have one more stop."

Katherine knocked on the front door of a pretty home.

"Hey, Kat!" Lance greeted.

They exchanged a quick hug when his gaze turned to me.

"Cassy! I didn't expect to see you here." He smiled.

"Yeah, neither did I," I said as Katherine walked into his house.

Lance motioned for me to come inside as well.

"So, Kat. You know I don't mind you coming over but... Why are you here? If I may ask."

"I needed a babysitter." She stated.

"Uh... Aren't you a little too old for one?" He questioned.

Katherine rolled her eyes and pointed at me. "I need you to watch her and make sure she doesn't follow me."

"Why?" He questioned curiously.

"Hold on. Why do I need a babysitter?" I asked.

"I don't need to answer your guys' questions. Just please keep her here, Lance?"

"Alright." He nodded.

"I'll be back in a couple of minutes."

"Katherine wait! Where are you going?" I asked as I stepped towards her.

"Don't worry about it okay?"

I was about to question her further, but she kissed my cheek making me freeze in place. I assume that's what she wanted to happen because in the blink of an eye she was gone.

"Katherine sure knows how to make you stay put." Lance laughed.

I just glared at him with burning cheeks.

He took a seat on his couch and I followed suit.

"Can I ask you a serious question?" He asked.

I nodded in response.

"Do you have feelings for her?"

Of course, it had to be this question. How did I not see it coming?

"Um, well I..."

I've been in this situation once before and look how it turned out. She left me for someone else, though I suppose it was my fault. Still, I did admit to her that I liked her. I guess she ended up not feeling the same way.

Katherine on the other hand, she's different from Laine in many ways. Katherine's more daring and adventurous. Somehow, I feel more comfortable around her despise the teasing. Maybe it's because we both aren't human? I still don't know much about her or what her story is. She knows pretty much everything about me though.

In a sense, Laine and I are a lot closer. We both knew each other very well and I felt like I would always be able to protect her.

"It's just a simple question. No need for all that smoke coming out of your head." Lance laughed.

"Sorry... I just- I don't know..." I said as my mind still pondered.

"I just thought I'd ask since you know you guys flirt with each other and all."

Now that I think about it he is right. We have both been flirting here and there under the disguise of playful teasing.

"I guess I just have trust issues you know? I let people in my life only for them to lie or leave me."

"You're not the only one with trust issues. Kat doesn't really have anyone in her life except me... and well... now you." He smiled.
