I was so small and fragile when he first saw me, his eyes showed a peculiar glint that he had never experienced before. If for a human being my condition at that time was already something to treat me with caution, for him being an Adeptus who fought against evil and lived many years, he'd probably feel that I'd melt like snow in his hands. He was the much-acclaimed Conqueror of Demons, he was in charge of exorcising evil and being stronger to protect Liyue. However, that day he witnessed first-hand the divine gift of life, that although it was not the first time that he had seen something like this in his entire existence, this especially left an unmatched mark on the Adeptus.

From that day on, my parents' life took a huge turn, but especially for my dear mother. Unlike my dad, she was only a human, although she did own a vision, she didn't fight or venture into extreme places, she didn't really use her power unless it was really necessary, so she actually seemed like a basic human most of the time. I was half Adeptus and half human like Miss Yanfei, the difference is that when I turned fifteen I decided to focus on my work as an Adeptus; at first, my mother, (TN), seemed uneasy about my decision since she didn't want me to face big dangers like my father, Xiao, does; but in the end, she agreed since it'd be no other than Xiao who would train me.

My father was quite strict about making me get up at four in the morning to start practice; it was quite noticeable that he didn't fully understand human emotions. Thinking about this several times I wondered how my parents fell in love, more curious actually how it was that Xiao experienced that feeling as an Adeptus.

"Sweetie." My mother gently woke me up. "Your father is waiting for you on the third floating island already; here you go."

She gave me a light but balanced breakfast in a brown paper bag. Before running off to where Xiao was, I quickly washed my face to wake up as much as possible. I didn't wake up on time and I was going to be fifteen minutes late, I knew this meant that he was going to scold me and make me run fifty laps around the Serenitea pot where we lived. This was another big difference between my parents, my mother was much more considerate and she did things with delicacy, my father rarely showed any emotion and he was quite strict about my discipline. Though I knew he wanted the best for me and my mother.

One day I could no longer bear the mystery and at dinner, I asked my mother how things happened between the two of them. I could feel how Xiao looked at me from the corner of his eye upon hearing my question, my mother almost choked on the water she was drinking for a few moments and she laughed nervously. Once (TN) started telling me the story, my father just kept eating.

That day I discovered a side of my mother that I didn't know. When she was younger she loved to go on adventures; to explore every corner of the world was her goal and she wasn't going to stop traveling from one place to another until she achieved it. Liyue was her penultimate destination, and that's when she met Xiao at the Wangshu Inn in the highest area of the place, a place she wasn't allowed to pass, but she needed to take an incredible photograph from the heights that she'd only take at that spot. 'It'll be just one photograph', she thought, 'I'll take it quickly and go back to my room'. It was then that she met the Adeptus, he seemed dejected, he didn't even bother to disappear, he'd just pretend to be another human. (TN) asked him if he needed help with anything; At first, she believed that he could be part of the Inn staff since he was in an area where guests weren't allowed to enter at that time, but his eccentric clothing made her think that he didn't work there.

How had Xiao experienced love? It was somewhat complicated. After meeting and running into each other 'by chance' in the lands of Liyue, my mother was sure of how she felt about the Adeptus, although he didn't seem to give her any green light. It wasn't strange to hear of an Adeptus falling in love with a human and making a family with them, Miss Yanfei was clear proof of this, however, Xiao never saw it possible that something like this would happen to him. He didn't know what emotion that was, he couldn't name it at that moment, but he knew that he was experiencing something new. It seemed that it doesn't matter if you're a human, deity, or a monster, everyone can equally fall into the hands of love.

According to my mother, Xiao confessed to her in an unforgettable way, although he wasn't good at expressing his feelings, the way he said it made her feel like the luckiest woman in the entire universe. But just when she was about to tell me about the day they confessed their love, my father spoke up.

"Lihua, it's time for your last round of training." The Adeptus interrupted, standing up.

"But mom was about to tell--!"

"Lihua." Xiao sighed; I just puffed out my cheeks and followed my father, I knew what that tone of voice meant.

I guess that will be a story for another day.
