"And who's this, mommy?" The girl asked pointing at a painting of a strange figure that represented one of the adepti.

"Oh... That one is Xiao, also known as Alatus." Her mother began to read the book once more. " 'Xiao has a formidable repute among the adepti. Conversely, he is not well-known in the mortal world, he is a perilous man and his eyes are as sharp as blades. This is due to him not being one of those popular deities to whom people pray for wealth and protection, nor is he a mystical sage of Jueyun Karst to whom pilgrims flock in search of divine wisdom. Nevertheless, rumor has it that if someone attacks you, if some evil spirits want to poison you, if monsters dig their claws into you, if death comes knocking at your door, you must call out his name, and he will come to your aid'."

           Her mother gave her a smile while she patted her hair, and she closed the book to put it back on the shelf, it was a book about deities and various creatures of Liyue. From that day on, the little (y/n) had the adeptus in mind; if he was so good, he would never harm anyone, right? She longed to meet him one day. When she played with her friends, she repeatedly mentioned Xiao to them, if they played something where they could get a bit hurt she told them that Xiao would take care of them and save them from all danger. She trusted that he would always protect them. She also prayed to Xiao for the safety of her loved ones and herself every night.

           A couple of years passed and her fanaticism for Guardian Yaksha diminished a bit, but she never forgot about him. It was no longer something that she had all the time in her mind, and she only prayed to him from time to time when she thought it was necessary, to avoid bothering him too. However, despite him being a deity that she greatly admires, in her current situation, a girl like her didn't know how to react, her mind had gone blank when she saw a hilichurl that came out of nowhere and, although it didn't hurt her, it snatched her stuffed animal and walked away from her to call out to other hilichurls who began to dance around the stuffed animal they had put on the floor. The girl tried to get close to them thinking they might be harmless, but one of the hilichurls knocked her to the ground and threatened her with a bat. The monster made a movement to hit her, but its action wasn't completed as it was stopped by a strange being. In no time he made all hilichurls disappear.

           He then picked up the stuffed animal from the floor and handed it to the little girl. She looked cautiously at the young-looking boy who gave her her toy, what caught her attention the most were his intense golden eyes that stood out even more with his red eyeliner. At that moment, she remembered someone, or better said, she remembered about a divine being she first heard about a couple of years ago. For the little girl, this stranger met the requirements: his eyes were as sharp as blades, he protected her from the monsters, and he returned her stuffed animal. He was a hero, he had to be Xiao. She didn't even call his name and yet he came to her aid. The girl smiled at him, but he didn't smile back; maybe he didn't like her by any chance, or maybe he just not like smiling? Whichever the answer was, the adeptus disappeared once his job was done and she was out of danger. At that moment, Little (y/n) made a promise to herself, she was going to looking for the adeptus and find a way to make him smile.
