(Y/n)'s POV
DING DONG
Laying on your back on top of the couch, one hand on your forehead and the other on your rapidly moving chest, you were still trying to get your heartbeat back into an admissible rhythm. Your eyes followed the back of her slim figure parading across the living room until the nearest corner, while she growled out loud about the inopportune interruption of your imminent intimacy.
- "Ryan!" - you hear Sarah gasp, surprised at the fact he is standing outside her house just now but trying to play it cool. - "W-What are you doing here? I was just about to call you..."
You can hear their interaction from a distance, but not watch it. As you're getting up to try and take a peek at her body language through a mirror on the opposite wall of the entrance, you see she's waiting for an answer that ends up never leaving his lips, instead he forces open the rest of the door that Sarah was still holding blocking his way, and walks in ahead of her, like he had done so many times before, only this time imposing his presence in the place, without being invited to do so. - "Ryan!"- Sarah let out in shock with his audacity, pleading him to stop walking as she tried to reach him. And you, after barely dodging his glance back at you in said mirror, could hear both of their quick approaching steps. - "Where do you think you are going?" - Sarah keeps on shouting, demanding an explanation to such unusual behaviour.
- "Where is she?" - Ryan, shouted. - "And don't lie to me! She's here, isn't she..."
- "Ryan, stop!" - Sarah was now, as heated as a burning match's head, from having to try and stop his progress into her home.
- "I knew it." - He whispered, ceasing his invading pace, just after settling his eyes on you, staring you up and down, making you gulp. - "You lied to me..." - he said louder to Sarah that was arriving just behind his back.
- "What the fuck. Do you think. That you're doing?" - Sarah says, very slowly and low pitched. There wasn't any hurry anymore, he had seen enough to confirm his suspicions.
- "You lied to my face Sarah." - Ryan says turning around to face her again. - "You looked me in the eyes last night, told me you weren't cheating on your partner, turned off your phone so that I couldn't bother you and came home right after, to do just that. What is wrong with you? I thought we were friends. What are you hiding from me? What about Holland, Sarah?"
- "Stop!" - she tries to pause him with a warning tone, but is interrupted again immediately.
- "And with a kid, Sarah? How naive do you have to be? To bring home a teenager with an undershave? To screw?? Is she even of age?" - That one really hurt you, which didn't go unnoticed to Sarah's eyes. Not the age one, pe-leaseeee... you have looked younger than your age for all your life now. But the screwing mention... That made you think twice, whether or not you really wanted to be there for that growing argument, and as Ryan was completing with his speech. - "You are going to tell holland about this, Sarah. Or I WILL. I can't lie to her because of you, plus she's just...."
You just couldn't stay still where you were, you were never good with confrontations, and clearly there was a conversation that needed to happen between the two friends, so as they were still yelling face to face, just far away from you enough, so that you thought they wouldn't hear you.
- "I should probably go..." - You mutter with your gaze on the floor, which Sarah could see above Ryan's shoulder. And with tears approaching your eyes, your thumb pointed outwards at the bedroom, direction towards which you started walking right after, hoping to grab your stuff and get the hell out of there before your tears took the best of you... 'It seemed too good to be true'.
- "FOR FUCKS SAKES, SHUT THE FUCK UP, RYAN! THAT'S ENOUGH!" - Sarah screamed, from the top of her lungs. Ryan suddenly became very quiet, and his posture changed. - "(Y/n)! You are not going anywhere, unless you want to." - she said shifting her attention to stare straight in your eyes for a couple of seconds. - "Ryan. We have been really good friends for a long time, and you know how much I treasure your friendship, but that gives you zero rights to barge into my house uninvited and start screaming and yelling after being asked to leave, accuse ME of mishandling things in MY LIFE that don't concern YOU, AT ALL!! Trash talking the people I AM welcoming into MY HOME???? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?? - she takes a breath. - "And by the way Ryan, if there's something you need to take off your chest with Holland, DO IT. No one is asking you to lie for anyone, call her right now if it pleases you. Just get the fuck out... - his expression was unreadable, but his feet clearly didn't move an inch. - "NOW!"
Only his eyes could express the amount of confusion going through his head after hearing so many unexpected things.
- "Sarah?" - he murmured, trying to convey an apologetic look.
- "Don't fucking 'Sarah' me..." - she asserted with a wounded lower pitch. - "Not after that whole show you just put on. How dare you come into my house and insult me and my guests?"
- "I wasn't thinking... Let's talk about this... I have a lot of questions..."
- "If you had arrived here politely with those questions, or even just waited for me to reply to your calls. We would probably be talking about it over coffee by now, the three of us, and I would explain everything, but you had to ruin everything and insult everyone in the process, so right now I don't even want to look at your face. You're leaving. And we'll talk another time."
Ryan nodded defeated, heading to the door and Sarah soon followed his steps. You could muster the exchange of a few unenthusiastic and undistinguishable words between the two, before Sarah slammed the door and headed back to the room where you were now once again sitting at the couch. Trying to understand everything that had just happened, your eyes rested on your fingers while you played with them, which was a nervous tell of yours, while Sarah watched you for a few seconds without knowing how to approach you on the sofa, which she finally did, just by sitting down by your side without actually touching you.
- "I'm really sorry for that." - Sarah exhaled. - "Ryan has never been like this before. I think he's feeling a little left out and acting like a jealous toddler..." - she took a deep breath, hoping you would say something, which you didn't. Her hand travelled to your furthest cheek, pulling your face to her in reverse motion. - "I hope nothing of what he said, has had any impact on your idea of what has been happening between us..." - Sarah's voice cracking, which was really showing off her vulnerability. It was now clear, that she was as terrified as you were, of messing this up. All you wanted was to make her smile.
- "There is just one thing he said... It really bothered me..." - you act up, faking a mild confusion and a chaotic mind....
- "What was it, sweety?" - she seems intrigued, and gives you a peck on the lips for finally opening up to her.
- "What's wrong with my undershave?" - You accentuate your sneeringly pitch and Sarah self-slaps her own forehead, giggling, realizing how much she had fallen into your little act.
- "Absolutely nothing!" - She smirked at you. - "I find it very arousing, actually."
- "Do you?"- You smirked back and that was the last thing heard, before your lips crashed into each other's and the environment in the room returned to the sexually charged atmosphere that existed between the two of you, before Ryan's appearance, and God... was it going somewhere.
