The rescue crew are finally ready to make the final cut into the mangled metal that had once been RJ's SUV door. The EMTs are ready to transfer RJ to a backboard and then onto a stretcher to whisk him to the waiting ambulance.
"Sir.."
"Give me just a minute, please," RJ pleaded. "Love?"
"RJ!"
"Sir, may I talk your wife? Just to give her an update."
"Love, yung paramedic may sasabihin daw sayo."
"Ma'am, My name is Ian andI'm a paramedic. Sir Alden may have a neck and shoulder injury; we'll know more once he's out of here and into the hospital. We need to get him out now." Ian was honest in his assessment, returning the phone back to RJ.
"Love, they're going to get me out of here soon. Keep me company muna? Kwentuhan mo ko, are the kids playing? Ang kalat na siguro dyan. Dami ko na naman liligpitin mamaya pag uwi ko." chuckling softly through his tears, putting up a brave front for his wife. He's scared. Really scared.
Maine continues to sobbed.
"Sing for me Love please.. the very first song you wrote for me.."

RJ closed his eyes, concentrating on his wife's singing voice, masking the horrible sound of cutting metal in his memory.
Ian placed a light protective blanket over RJ as the rescue crew started the equipment. They pried open the driver's door in less than ten minutes.
RJ let out a breath that he didn't realize that he was holding as the door finally came open. Ian and one of the other EMT released the seatbelt and gently guided it over RJ's shoulder, freeing him from the seat. They placed him on a backboard and then on the stretcher.
"We gotta go," Ian moved to load the stretcher into the ambulance. "Sa Asian Hospital tayo."
"You heard that Love?'
"I'm on my way Love, wait for me please. Wait for me!"
"I love you Maine, I love you.."
"I love you too RJ, so very much. Please wait for me!'
"Mom? Are you ok? What's happening? Why are you crying?"
Maine tried to calm herself down infront of her son. She took a deep breath and wiped her tears away.
"Daddy got into a car accident."
Thirdy tried not to let his fear creep into his voice. "Is he okay?"
"He's a bit banged up, but he's awake. I will let you know once I have more details. I'm going to the hospital now."
