Gratitude

Aycee waited until her parents retired to their bedroom for the night. As soon as she was sure that her parents are not coming out of their bedroom anytime soon, she sent messages to her older brothers Thirdy and Theo to come out as she passed by their bedroom with the roll of paper under her arm. Thirdy grabbed the large cork board that he bought at the office supply store earlier that day from his closet.

Theo: *asking Aycee* You got the stapler and push pins?

Aycee: Oops, thanks for reminding me; here hold this please. *handing her brother the rolled white craft paper and returned to her room. She opened the bottom desk drawer and retrieved the bag with the new package of push pins, bright green sticky notes, and assorted gel pens. She grabbed the stapler from the desktop*

Thirdy: Okay, let's go. *leading Theo and Aycee to the dining area where their breakfast nook is located and where their schedule boards are hanged*

Theo: *leading them to an empty part of the wall* Can you hand me the two plastic things for the screws so I can put them in the wallboard.

Aycee: *handing what Theo asked for* How are you gonna do that without them hearing a hammer or something?

Thirdy: See those two spots on the wall? *aiming the laser pointer at two spots that were slightly different in color from the rest of the wall. Theo and I made the holes last night and then covered them over with a small amount of glue. All we have to do is pull it out of the holes with a pushpin. The plastic thingies will slide right in.

Theo: *poking the pieces of glue with the pin until they fell out, sliding the screw holders into the wallboard* There..

Thirdy: *taking the two screws from the package with the corkboard and used a small screwdriver to turn them until about a quarter of an inch stuck out from the wall* Gimme the corkboard.

Aycee: Here. *handing the board to her brother*

Thirdy: *mounting the corkboard on the screws and adjusting it* Almost there..

Aycee: A little bit lower Kuya, Chuchay will only reach the bottom part at that height. Not all of us are as tall as you and Dad.

Theo: *chuckling* Not our fault if you're tiny.

Aycee: I am not that tiny!

Thirdy: Shhh quiet! You're gonna wake everyone. There it's done. Theo do you want to hold the paper or staple?

Theo: I'll hold the paper; you staple. *holding the paper so the corners aligned with the upper corners of the cork. They placed staples in the corners and across the top*

Aycee: Now unroll it a bit at time; I'll smooth it down and Kuya Thirdy can keep stapling.

Theo: *In five minutes, they had unrolled the paper, showing the image of a bare tree with many branches, stapled to the corkboard and ready for the next step* Alright..
