You suddenly opened your eyes, gasping for air in your every breath. You started moving around in panic. You knew you were laying down on a bed but still were scared it was another spirit world thing. Your heart was beating faster than ever before, your lungs felt like they were not working and the room was spinning like crazy.
"Hey, hey, kid. Just breath okay?" Tony was immediately by your side, holding your hand and looking into your eyes.
You were still in shock but as soon as you felt Tony's touch it all went away. You started breathing properly and the room was not spinning anymore.
"Are you okay?" Tony asked once you were completely fine.
"Wha-" You looked around before asking any questions. The rest of the beds were empty, Loki was obviously nowhere to be found. "Where-" You paused again. You didn't know what you wanted to ask Tony first. Every question you had at that moment needed to be answered immediately, so you decide to start with the most important one. "What happened?"
"You gave us a good scare kid, that's what happed." Tony smiled at you and moved to look at you file. "You have been out for almost two days."
"Two days? Tony what the hell happened on that mission?" Tony's face suddenly darkened. He looked at you with terror in the eyes but tried to hide it. You tried to read his mind but you were still too weak.
"You got hurt." You said quickly and stuck his eyes on your file.
"I don't see any wounds." You said checking your body for scars.
"You didn't get any. They just hit you pretty hard and knocked you out." Tony answered.
"But I don't feel like I was hit." You said suspiciously.
"Well you got better." Tony looked up again, only a little annoyed. "Come on now get up, everyone is worried." He gave you his hand and helped you get up.
To your surprise you were not wearing your uniform anymore. Instead you were into your pajamas and you didn't really want to know how you got in them. Tony tried to get you up slowly but you felt completely fine, like nothing had ever happened.
You and Tony then walked out of the infirmary and into the living room of penthouse where everyone was sitting around. All the eyes suddenly turned to you and the first ones to get up were of course Nat, Thor and Bucky.
"Hey, how do you feel?" Bucky quickly came next to you.
"Is it okay that you got up so soon?" Nat followed him shortly.
"Y/n, are you okay?" Thor stood still but was equally worried with the others.
"Guys I feel completely fine." You laughed and sat on the couch. "Honestly I feel like every other day, like nothing happened..."
You suddenly stopped. The memories of the mission started coming back to you along with what had happened next. When you first woke up you thought it was just a dream but now knew it wasn't. Your eyes then open widely when you noticed the missing of Loki from that room as well. You first looked at Thor who knew exactly what you were thinking about and the turned to Tony and Bruce.
"Where is Loki?"
Everyone immediately stopped talking and an awkward silence spread through the room. They were all looking at eachother and then took quick looks of you before turning their eyes away. You could tell something very bad had happened but you didn't want to think of what that might had been.
He had promised you!
What you were thinking couldn't be true!
"I said where is Loki!" You demanded, louder this time. "Tony?" You turned to him. He looked equally mad and worried which completely confused you.
