Miles' POV

I quickly ran into Aleria's room as soon as I left our parents out on the porch. I heard an awful noise coming from her bathroom and timidly called out her name.

"Aleria" I knocked on the door and it opened a little and I saw her kneeling down in front of the toilet.

"Oh Aleria" I muttered walking towards her and hastily grabbing her hair. I held it back for her as she grabbed the sides of the toilet.

"This is gross" she whispered before spitting what was left in her mouth out before putting the toilet lid and flushing as she stood up.

"What's wrong?" I asked "Do you not feel good?" This was obvious she wouldn't be puking if she felt good.

"I'm fine" she said probably coming out more irritated than what she really was. At least I hope that was the case.

"Okay well let's clean you up" her eyes were red and puffy and there was a little vomit in her hair and she needed to brush her teeth or the stomach acid would mess with her teeth.

"I can do it myself" she said batting me away as she grabbed her tooth brush.

"Are you sure?" I asked hesitant to leave

"I'm sure! I can clean myself up I'm not five!" Aleria yelled at me. This was the first time I had ever heard her yell as she stuck her toothbrush into her mouth. I don't know why she was so mad though. Earlier we had been laughing together and I had been stupid enough to kiss her. Maybe that's why she was mad. Was it because I kissed her? Did I provoke her?

"Okay well I'll be waiting downstairs with the parents for you so we can say bye" I left her bathroom and walked through her messy room before running down the stairs. Hurriedly not wanting to miss being able to say good bye.

When I got down there I noticed my dad and Reyna were still packing and then heard the shower start. I hoped Aleria would get down here and wasn't too sick.

Fifteen minutes later I was standing at the door smiling and hugging my dad tightly not wanting to ever let go. I had never seen him go on a quest though I had been on a few and he had told me of his.

"We have to go soon" Reyna said looking a bit sad that Aleria wasn't down there yet.

Then suddenly I heard footsteps bounding down the stairs and said a silent thank you to the gods for getting Aleria down here.

She was in sweat and a shirt and her hair was stringy and wet. Her beautiful eyes were red and puffy as she ran and threw her arms around her mother.

"I'll miss you" she mumbled and her voice wavered. You knew she was holding back tears.

"I'll miss you too" Reyna kissed her daughter's head and they stayed like that for only a moment before my dad and Reyna left.

And as soon as that door shut Aleria threw herself at me and it only took me a moment to wrap my arms around her.

"They'll be fine" I mumbled stroking her hair softly. If only I believed that
