Aleria point of view
My laughter stopped as Miles brought his head down towards mine.
His face grew closer and closer with a gentle but serious expression on his face. My grin left and I was speechless. He was going to kiss me. I knew he was planning to kiss me yet I didn't do anything to stop him. Rather I just watched as his lips came closer to mine.
His blue eyes were piercing as I stared into them with my own brown eyes that were dull in comparison to his.
But as soon as his lips brushed mine I heard an impatient grunt come from the now open front door.
Miles then dropped me with his face a bright red color as we both turned around at the same time. My cheeks were the same color if not redder than his.
Standing in the doorway was Ryan with an awkward expression on his face as well as his jaw was clenched so his usually playful face he wore around me looked strained and hurt.
"What do you want?" Miles snapped. I didn't know what it was but they would never get along...
"I came to talk Aleria" he said curtly giving me a pleading look with his obsidian eyes. A look he made sure Miles would not see.
"Okay" I said slowly walking away from Miles and his warm embrace.
"We'll be back" Ryan said taking my hand as he lead me out the door. I thought we would just be going to the patio but instead he started heading to the place he had spared Miles yesterday which was actually quite far away from my house...
"He's ruining you Aleria" Ryan said looking pale compared to usual.
"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.
"I mean you haven't been training. I haven't seen you for days. And lastly you haven't come to lessons. I'm worried if he's distracting you" Ryan said being that best friend I had always loved like a brother. But right now I did not need a brother and I did not understand why he was saying these things.
"I don't need you to worry for me. I'll be back to training normally tomorrow. I was under house arrest and just haven't been feeling like doing anything. I've just been like taking a short break Ryan. It's none of your business anyway." I said rather coldly. I knew he didn't deserve to be treated this way. He cared that's all but the words came out more bitter than I had ever intended.
"I just don't want him to mess up your success! He's the reason you were under house arrest!" Ryan exclaimed looking ignited.
"He's not doing anything!"
"Exactly! He's not doing anything and neither are you! You're sitting around instead of going for your dreams like you used to. Aleria since he's gotten here you've changed."
"Yeah well maybe change isn't so bad all the time. I was so uptight and straight forward Ryan! I don't see why not being so serious is such a bad thing" I said not wanting Miles to get thrown under the bus like that.
"But you're not the Aleria I used to know! You're not the same person!" Ryan lunged forward and surprisingly took my face between his hands with a gentle touch.
"You're not the same girl I thought I had loved" he whispered seeming to have lost all of his anger in the past two seconds.
I had been stunned speechless. I couldn't respond. He hands were warm and soft against my cheeks yet I some how felt wrong by doing this. I felt like I shouldn't be letting Ryan touch me like this when my lips had been so close to mine just ten minutes before.
Then slowly Ryan leaned into me and gave me a soft butterfly kiss. It was soft and simple kiss and yet it felt like something much more for some reason.
"You're not the same Aleria I knew" he whispered against my lips before dropping his hands and slowly walking away from me
