"You told me you were done with being good." Jim said.
"I know I did. I'm tired of fighting it, this anger, darkness" I said.
"Then why fight it? Why pretend to be good, sane? Let yourself be free." Jim said.
My phone rang. "Brilliant timing." I said. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and answered it.
"Hello?" I said.
"I stopped by your flat, but you didn't seem to be home. Where are you?" Sherlock said.
"Sherlock. What a surprise. No, I'm not home, but, it's none of your business where I am." I said.
"You aren't with Moriarty, are you?" Sherlock asked.
"With Moriarty?" I asked
Jim gave me an almost warning look, basically telling me not to tell Sherlock that I was with him.
"That is what I asked." Sherlock said.
"No, Sherlock, I'm not with Moriarty. I have no reason to be." I said.
"Funny, because John did mention you saying you were done fighting that darkness of yours. So, I assumed you would have gone to him." Sherlock said.
"No, I haven't. Yes, I'm tired of fighting it, but I would never go to a terrible person like him. He's a bloody criminal and a psychopath." I said.
"Alright. I'll talk to you later than. Have a case to work on." Sherlock said before hanging up the phone.
I put my phone back away in my pocket. "Right, anyways" I said.
"A terrible, criminal, psychopath? Really?" Jim said.
"I had to sound convincing. I mean, you are those things, but I don't mean it in a harsh way." I said.
"Of course not. So, tell me, why do you continue to pretend?" Jim asked.
"I don't want them to hate me." I said.
"You don't want Sherlock to hate you." Jim said.
"I don't want either of them to, Jim." I said.
"Perhaps. But, it's mostly Sherlock you don't want to hate you." Jim said.
"What are you implying?" I asked.
"I'm saying you care for him." Jim said.
"He's my friend, of course I care" I said.
"No, not like that, my dear. You carry feelings for him. I can tell." Jim said.
"No, I absolutely don't. I never have." I said.
"Are you saying I read your feelings wrong?" Jim asked.
"That is exactly what I'm saying." I said.
"If you don't care for him, prove it. Stop pretending." Jim said.
"Okay. But I don't kill. You want someone taken and brought you, fine. But I will not kill. I don't want my hands dirty." I said.
"Well, we're more alike than I thought." Jim said. "You have yourself a deal. I have people who can kill, you don't have to. Not yet at least"
"I won't kill. Not now, not ever. Make a single attempt to make me kill someone, I will turn you in to Mycroft. I will convince him, spin my own little web of lies, that you forced me to do all of those terrible things." I said.
"How would I have forced you?" Jim asked.
"You threatened my family, of course. You had snipers on them, and said the moment I betrayed you, they'd all die" I said with a small smirk.
"You've woven yourself quite the tale, haven't you?" Jim said.
"Indeed I have. You see, it wouldn't be wise to cross me. I could ruin you, and it wouldn't even be that hard." I said.
"You don't want to threaten me" Jim said. "That's unwise"
"Threaten you? No no no. It's not a threat, it's a promise. You make any attempt to have me do something I don't want to, and I destroy you." I said.
"If you want me to trust you, you won't say things like that" Jim said.
"Trust me, or don't trust me. I really don't care." I said.
"I think you do." Jim said.
"No, I really don't. You don't know me." I said.
"I don't? Don't I though? We're alike. You just lie to yourself about it" Jim said.
"Well, I'm done with that. Done lying to myself, done pretending, done hiding." I said.
"Good." Jim said. "There's a woman, get her for me. Bring her here."
I nodded. "Who is she?" I asked.
"Her name is Avery Miller. Get her, bring her here, my people will handle the rest." Jim said.
"Avery Miller? Brown hair, green eyes, approximately five foot six inches, pale skin?" I asked.
"You know who I'm talking about. That should make it easier. You know her, how?" Jim asked.
"She was my friend, until she betrayed me. Emotionally abused me, stole my boyfriend. She ruined my life" I said.
"Shouldn't be to hard for you to do this for me then" Jim said.
"I'll do it with a damn smile on my face" I said as I walked to the door, then walked out.
