She finally met Recovery Girl after a few weeks. Principal Nezu visited her and said that Y/N seems to be adjusting pretty well with the class. He asked her if she would want to meet more people, Y/N agreed.

She was still not speaking - mainly because she was so used to not speaking in front of other people. Her family told her to hold her tongue, it was her duty to heal them. She once made the mistake of yelping in pain and the consequences were dire. The only person she really felt comfortable speaking with was Mr. Mamoru, he was always so gentle with her especially whenever he would tend to her wounds to help her heal faster.

Y/N sighed and looked at her reflection in the mirror, gone was the frightened girl who just came out of her hell hole. She was smiling more, especially because the Class I-A were so warm towards her. Even Mineta, who would sometimes creep her out, was friendlier.

Mr. Mamoru left her alone with the other students often now. He trusted them and he trusted their surroundings, he told her that UA is safe and she will be safe there.

"Good morning, Y/N."

She loved being greeted whenever she would step out of her room. Her family was never warm and they only came to her when they needed her quirk.

Uraraka and Midoriya walked with her towards their dining area. They were both dressed in their uniforms and were ready for class.

"Are you excited to meet Recovery Girl?" Uraraka smiled kindly at Y/N who nodded as a reply.

Midoriya grinned in excitement, "Recovery Girl would be the perfect person for you to meet, Y/N! She has the same quirk!" And then he started murmuring, "Although I do not know if she experienced the same consequences as you but she definitely would be able to help and train Y/N, if she wishes that to happen. I would like to take notes of this. I wonder how better Y/N could be with her quirk. Will her regeneration be faster?"

"Tch, you're blocking the way, nerd!"

Y/N turned her eyes towards the always angry Bakugo.

The blond met her eyes, "What are you looking at? You got a problem with me, huh?"

She gasped and shook her head.

Bakugo smirked, "Good." Then he looked at Uraraka and Midoriya, "Move, nerds." He entered the dining room.

"Good morning, Y/N! Today's the day you meet Recovery Girl right?" Momo waved them over.

Y/N smiled and nodded.

"You can do this, Y/N." Shoji patted her head. He was the one who encouraged her to go out of her room when Mr. Mamoru disappeared one day. He was towering over her but was as gentle as her caretaker. "Take it one step at a time, it will be okay."

Todoroki looked up from his breakfast, "If you cannot do it today, that's okay. Try again tomorrow."

"That's right!" Mina cheered.

Denki grinned wide, "I can cut class and accompany you, Y/N."

"That is against school rules!" Iida frowned from his coffee.

"Bah! You're such a killjoy, Iida!" Denki complained. "I just wanted to help Y/N! Heroes help people!"

Tokoyami sighed, "Yes but then again, I think Y/N would greatly appreciate if you try harder in class." Everyone laughed, Denki's grades were one of the lowest in class.

Y/N could feel so much love coming from this group of people. The kind she has been craving for, the kind that was taken away from her.

Tears filled her tears and her heart flooded with affection.

"Thank you." Y/N finally said. It was soft but everyone heard it.

"Did you really just say..." Kirishima looked at her with his mouth open.

Hagakure squealed and embraced Y/N tightly, "She did! She said thank you!"

Y/N found herself in a middle of a hug from her newly found friends. Momo, who looked like a proud mother, was wiping her own tears. Todoroki was smiling at her from where he sat.

And Bakugo?

Well, Bakugo was looking at her, without an expression on his face but it was softer than she could ever imagine his face to be then he looked away to eat.

After the first few words of gratitude that she uttered during breakfast, her friends all seemed to want to take her to Recovery Girl. They were all volunteering to take her but even Denki knew it was ridiculous to find the entire class to walk one person to their clinic.

"Alright then, we can let Bakugo take her." Kirishima pointed over his friend who was already on his way out.

"I can take her!" Mineta knew Bakugo didn't want to be part of these trivial things so he volunteered immediately.

Bakugo growled, "Let's just go, healer." He flung his bag over his shoulder and started walking off.

Y/N followed the boy quickly, for the fear of being left behind and lost.

"Tch, helpless as always, aren't you?" She heard Bakugo speak in front of her. He was looking at her, obvious irritation on her face.

Y/N frowned a bit, "S-sorry."

"Stop apologizing, freak. I don't want to hear it." He started walking, his pace slower to keep up with her own strides. "It isn't your fault so shut it."

"S-so..."

"Didn't you hear what I just said?" The boy growled again, "You don't have to apologize for that. You never have anything to apologize for, got it?" He sent her a mean gaze, "Besides, you need to know how to do things for yourself."

When Y/N didn't reply, he continued, "They're not always going to be there to help you out. They're all idiots after all so they won't be much of a help." Bakugo huffed, "You're not there anymore. You need to learn. You need to rely on yourself. That Mr. Mamoru cannot always look after you."

"You're right." Y/N knew that. It was just so hard to deviate from things she's used to.

"Of course I'm right! I'm the best!" Bakugo declared.

Y/N laughed.

"What the fuck are you laughing at, you freak? I am the best! I will be! Just you wait!"
