Trust Bakugo Katsuki to notice the changes in Y/N after seeing her villain father on tv. It has been a few hours but she was still shaken up, staring at the dinner she had in front of her.

Apparently she did not know that her father was batshit crazy. Nobody informed her and Mr. Mamoru about the the entire villain group that her father ran. Nobody informed her that the family she knew, her mother and brothers, were actually simply henchmen. Nobody told her that her blood relatives were dead.

It only took Class I-A the three whole hours before dinner to do a quick research and they were the ones to reveal to her everything. Bakugo didn't actually stay for that part since a lot of people were already making it their business but he was there to see her face lose all color when she discovered the truth.

She was used.

This is what he has been telling her from the moment he discovered the story. But maybe this is the only time that it was truly dawning on her how pitiful her story really was.

His heart wrenched painfully - although he did try to ignore it countless times that afternoon. They all comforted her, offered their shoulders, and grieved at the memories she used to hold. Bakugo stayed away, unsure of what he truly should be doing. He had no kind words to say, especially after Kirishima told him everything.

"Bakugo," Kirishima nudged him quietly, gesturing to him that he broke his chopsticks.

He didn't realize how hard he had clenched his fists, they were almost white. "Tch." Bakugo dropped the broken utensils on the table and marched to the kitchen to get a new pair. When he was out of anybody's eyes, he leaned on the counters before letting out a low growl. He needed to calm himself down.

What can he do? He didn't have the license to fight anyone yet. Nobody did. They were all still waiting for the license exams. It was futile to even think of a plan to...

To do what? To get back at her father for torturing her? To get back at that group for making her life a living hell?

Bakugo gritted his teeth before taking out another pair of chopsticks and moving back to his seat. He will get that damn license.

Dinner was quiet. Nobody was sure what to say aside from the occasional "You should start eating." to their resident healer. But their reminders barely got through her, Y/N pushed her plate aside and disappeared to her room quietly.

Kaminari rose from his seat but Momo stopped him, "She needs to process this on her own. Let's just leave her be." The boy begrudgingly sat back down.

"You idiots need to stop acting this way." Bakugo had to say something. He always had to say something, "So we get that her past is fucked up but that's all over. Do you think your tears or your hugs are going to change anything about that? Fuck no."

"Kacchan..."

"Shut up, Deku." It was good that he was finished with his dinner. He didn't have the energy to stay with these extras. "What? You think telling her that it's okay will help her out? What kind of dumbass says that to anyone anyway? It is not okay. Let the damn girl be and stop bringing the mood down."

When he left, Iida realized what he meant. Everyone did. Y/N was already sad in the turn of events. Nothing is going to change her past but they can affect her future. They can change it.

Bakugo was not done though.

It was already very late when he finally plucked up enough courage to talk to Y/N. He had spent time murmuring to himself, practicing what he wanted to say. Bakugo had a speech ready just enough to snap her out of her gloom. He understood where it was coming from but he was never the one to dwell. So he didn't want her to dwell on the matter as well.

Mr. Mamoru was standing guard by her door again. It has been awhile since he did that and Bakugo could guess why.

"Mr. Bakugo," The older man acknowledged him as the blond walked towards the door. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

Bakugo clicked his tongue before saying, "Need a word with her."

The older man nodded in understanding, "I will leave her to you."

With his entire speech ready, Bakugo knocked on her door. There was a few seconds of silence but Mr. Mamoru encouraged him to enter. He said that he could hear her move in the room a few minutes before Bakugo arrived.

Bakugo did as told.

He found Y/N seated on the floor, her knees close to her chest and her long hair sprawled out on the dark wood floor of her room. She was looking out the window, staring at the moon.

Bakugo cleared his throat to announce his presence but she didn't turn her head for him.

Closing the door behind him, Bakugo entered the room and settled on her bed. The prepared speech he had about moving forward and pushing through the fire is suddenly forgotten. He could barely remember it now, possibly because he didn't really have the heart to say anything else to her right now.

Maybe he didn't really need to. Bakugo was not the best with words anyway.

Not before long, Y/N laid her head on his knees with her eyes still in deep thought. She was recognizing his presence but was also not in the mood to say anything else.

Bakugo will let her have tonight. She can think about it tonight but no more about that sad shit tomorrow.
