"There is a bounty for Mamoru's head," Principal Nezu looked around the table. Chosen faculty were there in attendance. "They are looking for her."
"Can't you tell us who her family is, Principal?" Midnight bit her lower lip, "It would be better if we know who we'll be up against."
Principal Nezu handed them a folder each. As the heroes opened the files, he started explaining, "Her family is not who they said they are. Her father is her biological father, the infamous villain, Maskara. A shapeshifter. He runs a drug syndicate and he often comes across heroes."
"Maskara is her father? That's why he's always so careless!" Aizawa frowned, "He has a healer. He can get beaten up and be in shape the next day."
"And what about her mother...her siblings?" Ectoplasm looked at the principal.
"Other than her father, the people she knew as her family are simply people working for Maskara. They are not related to her." The principal explained.
"What?" Mamoru exclaimed from his seat, "But...the madame..."
"A henchman. All utilizing their fountain of life." Principal Nezu nodded. Mamoru knew nothing of the operation. Threatening the life of his family, he was blackmailed to take care of the young healer and in the process, he became fond of her. "Her real family has been killed, whether this is Maskara's doing, we do not know."
"So to ensure her safety, we must eliminate this syndicate." All Might realized. The young girl will only live in fear if she is allowed to go out of the school grounds for good.
Principal Nezu nodded grimly, "No one knows of Mamoru's affiliation with UA. They do not have an idea that they're here. For now, they are safe." He smiled at Mamoru, "I can assure you that U.A can be your safehouse for the time being."
"Principal, thank you." He was grateful, so grateful.
Even if he could not protect his own family, at least he could protect...
"Y/N! Do you and Bakugo really kiss yesterday?" Hagakure and the girls planned a sleepover in Y/N's room. They either brought sleeping bags or asked Momo to make one - she was insistent of purchasing things to help the economy but since it was already late, she made them some.
Y/N blushed. She has only seen kissing in films and had a belief that it was something so beautiful, so intimate. "Ah, no... We actually were just...standing close to each other."
"Why were you standing close to each other, kero?" Tsuyu questioned further.
"Were you about to kiss?" The girls all leaned forward to hear the answer to Momo's question.
The pink shade on Y/N's face turned into a deep shade of red. Being the center of attention like this embarrassed her. "I hugged him."
Uraraka smiled wide, "And he didn't even push you away!" She giggled, "That's a development!"
Jiro grinned mischievously at Uraraka, "Just like how you want to hug Midoriya!"
Their resident gravity girl turned the same shade as Y/N.
"You like Midoriya?" Y/N blinked at Uraraka.
"No no! I don't like Deku! No, I mean, I like him as a friend! He is an amazing friend! I like him that way but I don't like like him!" Uraraka defended. The more she did, the worse the laughter became.
Mina turned their attention back to Y/N, "But she's right. Ochako's right. That is a development for Bakugo. If any of us tries to even initiate a hug, he'd beat us up!"
"He'd threaten to kill us." Hagakure supplied.
Jiro laughed, "What do you mean threaten? He will kill us!"
"Maybe he's fond of you, kero." Tsuyu thought aloud, "He's always looking at you. He always drags Denki and Kirishima away from you, kero."
Uraraka recovered from her bout of blushes, "I noticed that too. Whenever Ojiro or Sero approach you, he looks like he's ready to jump at them."
Y/N shrugged, "He just noticed I'm not comfortable with their presence. We met the night before I apologized to everyone. We were in the kitchen and I was terrified of him..."
"Well, to be fair, anyone would be scared to bump into him at night." Momo laughed.
"Well yes, his mean red eyes were so sharp." Y/N nodded, remembering how small she felt then. She felt so weak compared to him, his presence felt so powerful. "And then Kirishima called out to him. I jumped a little and I think he noticed that."
"You're not comfortable with men, Y/N?" Uraraka asked quietly. Their atmosphere went from light to serious in an instant.
Y/N took a deep breath before recounting her story, "My father is a scary man. So are my brothers. I was told to only heal, nothing else. I could not speak or react to the pain. They didn't like it if I made any sounds. So whenever I do make even the softest of sounds, they'll hit me. The only person who didn't hit me are my mother and Mr. Mamoru." Y/N felt Uraraka's hand grasping hers. She felt safe, supported, and loved. "I guess I was used to it. Whenever I see men, I feel like they'd hit me."
"And is that also the reason why you never spoke before?" Jiro inquired and Y/N nodded.
"But you all made me feel like I could finally speak. You all made me feel like I'm someone you didn't see as just an object to be used. You were all kind to me." She couldn't help but tear up. Every single thing that happened to her before UA was difficult but now, she had them.
She had her friends.
