He realized she didn't need him to say anything because she was doing fine on her own.

With their provisional hero license exam coming up, the class was busy and so was Y/N. There was no more mention of her family, Y/N made sure she was preoccupied.

Their resident healer has again been taken under the wing of Recovery Girl. They were taking smaller steps this time, Y/N showed up in the Class I-A's science classes especially when there are topics of the human anatomy. She read books and started discussing with Iida and Momo about the topics of human regeneration.

"You're doing quite the progress, Y/N." Iida complimented her as they found her studying again in their dining area.

Uraraka brought her tea and cookies while she studied. "Aren't you tired, Y/N? You've been studying nonstop for the past two weeks."

"I'm fine. Recovery Girl will have me handle small injuries and wounds tomorrow. I need to be prepared." Then she looked up from her book, "Is anyone injured today? I need to practice."

Kirishima let out a laugh, "That's dark. But if that will really help you out, how do you want that wound?"

"Just shallow for now." Y/N watched them expectantly.

Bakugo entered the dorm and everyone's eyes fell on him. "What are you looking at, extras?" He usually had a bruise somewhere on his arm, especially if he was frustrated that day and he needed to let out some steam during his personal training.

Kaminari grinned at him, "Y/N needs a patient, Katsuki."

"I'll give her one. Get your will ready, Pikachu." He opened his palm, ready to strike.

But Y/N's voice made him stop, "Can I see that, Bakugo?" It was the first time in weeks that they had talked, the first time she called out his name - he would not admit it but he liked it better when she used his first name.

"I'm not gonna be fucking healed." Bakugo rolled his eyes and made his way towards the staircase but Sero and Kirishima dragged him by the arms and brought him over by force. He struggled loudly, complaining that they need to let him go or else Y/N will have two more patients than she bargained for.

"Can I?" Y/N stood up from her seat, walking over to him.

"Tch." He looked away and offered her the arm he bruised that afternoon.

Y/N laid her hand on his fresh bruise and felt the usual warmth before the pain. Bakugo felt the warmth too but he was more focused on wondering where it came from, her hand or the flush on his skin.

The bruise appeared on her skin, the same part it had been on Bakugo earlier. Y/N then went silent for a moment, focusing on the spot and trying to force her body to do what it can to fix the damage.

It was slow but she knew she did her practice. Y/N studied well - she read on cuts and bruises, and even tried to memorize the information on the subject. This was crucial to her but definitely not something that they knew would work.

Her quirk was much different from Recovery Girl's and everything she has been doing were merely experiments, and trial and errors.

"Don't force yourself, dumbass. I'm going to get ice." Bakugo shoved his hands in his pockets before Y/N held him back.

"No. Wait. I can do this."

Her words made him stop. Her words made him eye her up, challenging her to prove him wrong - that he didn't have to get ice to help with the bruising. Y/N met his eyes, those dangerous vermillion taunting her to do it or else.  She focused on the spot on her arm and took a deep breath.

Those who were with her at that moment watched as the bruise started to get smaller. It was a slow process and you wouldn't have noticed if you were not paying close attention. It wasn't much of a big one but when it disappeared completely, Y/N let out a breath of relief.

"That was amazing, Y/N!" Momo came over to give the smaller girl a hug. The others congratulated her, telling her that she did a good job and that all her hard work was paying off.

Bakugo didn't think much about it. He wasn't good with praises so he didn't say anything. It was good that she could regenerate faster than she already does but it was such a small bruise that he knew it would have been gone anyway. She needed more practice, more push to keep her progress steady.

After this, some of the boys from the class started coming over to Y/N in different times of the day. The healer was surprised whenever they would come around with a bruise or two. It was almost often Kirishima or Kaminari - occasionally Todoroki would also come over for minor scratches.

"I don't really mind healing you up." Y/N looked at Sero who was smiling wide at her. "But are you hurting yourselves on purpose?" She blinked at the redhead and the blond who took Sero to her in the clinic during lunch.

"Ah, no no!" Kaminari laughed, "Bakugo has been too rough with us for some reason."

Kirishima gave her a wide grin before imitating the explosive boy, "If you can't handle shit, go to that loser and get yourself patched up." The three let out loud laughter. "That's what he told me."

"That's what he told me too, before I came here." Sero stood up from the stool that Y/N asked him to occupy earlier. "We think he's doing it on purpose so you can practice."

She had to admit, being able to practice on them is a huge help. Her regeneration when it comes to bruises and scratches are getting better in just a span of a few days.

"Should I thank him?" The healer blinked at the three boys.

Kirishima shook his head, "He'll just deny it. You don't have to thank him for that. I think he'd appreciate it if you get better at what you do."

"And you are!"

Y/N nodded and smiled, "If I get better and move to mending bones, please don't do it everyday."
