Y/N acted quickly, running and pulling the child to safety. The small boy got a few glass embedded in his skin but Y/N managed to heal them before help arrived. The child clung to Y/N, crying a little too loudly before eventually succumbing to sleep.

Bakugo had to face the angry scolding of the patrolling hero and the police who responded. He and Y/N merely said they were only trying to help. But it was a good thing, the police said, that the glass did not injure anyone else or else, it will be a bigger problem.

It was in fact a good thing that Y/N was there, Bakugo thought as he answered a few interrogation before he met up with the healer.

"He fell asleep." Y/N looked up at Bakugo. She had the child in her arms. Bakugo could tell she was struggling since there was blood seeping from the hoodie she wore.

"You changed before running after me." He took the kid from her. "I gave you one damn job."

"I was worried about you." She admitted quietly. "I could not sit still."

Bakugo rolled his eyes. He was a bit touched that she did worry but he wasn't about to say that aloud. "Anyway, let's get you treated later." He said to her quietly, covering up the fact that one got injured from the entire thing. It would just overcomplicate things.

"Hiro!" The child's mother cried out. She rushed over to them and thanked them profusely for saving her son. She took him from them and walked off.

After that, Bakugo frowned deeper than he already was. "Let's go home. I don't want to get you into more trouble."

Once they were home, Y/N assured him that she will be fine. She had a kit ready just in case something happens. Bakugo followed her closely to her room and stayed there as she took the hoodie off. There were deep cuts in her right arm but other than that, she was fine.

The blond quietly watched from the doorway as she tended to her own wounds. It was obvious how she was used to doing it.

"You were great out there." Y/N commented once she was done wrapping her arm. She was working on the floor, just so she wouldn't get anything on the bed.

"Tch." He responded.

"It looked difficult. You look like you were in deep thought." She continued, "You didn't want to injure anyone. You had to do some quick thinking."

"Yeah, minimal damage." He mumbled. "I couldn't think of anything else to do, honestly. If it were just him, I could have beat him up."

Y/N kept her kit, "Why?"

"What do you mean why? I obviously don't want to be in a bigger problem." Bakugo scoffed before he sat on her bedside.

"No. Why do you want to be a hero?"

"Because I want to be the best." He answered simply. Is that not what he was always saying? "I want to become number one."

"Yes but why? Why is it important for you to be the number 1 hero?" She pressed on, not understanding why it was important for him.

"Because I want to be the best." Bakugo repeated after a few minutes of silence. "If I become number one, that means I can beat a lot of villains up. I am the best at what I can do."

"The best at protecting other people?" Y/N inquired.

"Tch, maybe." He leaned back on her bed and looked at the ceiling. "I have my quirk and I plan to use it and utilize it. I want to be better every single day so I can become the best. The number one. If I can beat villains and save people, that would be perfect."

Y/N smiled. He can be an asshole but he's not a bad guy.

"That's why I told you from the start that if you don't want to be a hero, don't be. No one needs a hero who doubts." He continued. "But you do have a good quirk. If you plan to do anything about it, that's okay but if you don't want to, don't."

"I want to help other people. I want to help other heroes like you."

Bakugo sat up quickly when he heard that. "Help me?"

"Yes. You can't be the best if you're dead, right?" Maybe it wasn't the best reason out of all the reasons in the world but for her, she wanted to help him achieve his dream. She wanted to make sure he's alive and well when the day come that he's number one.

That meant she had to train harder as well.

Bakugo stared at her for a good two minutes before letting out a deep breath, "Just know that if you want to heal me up, I won't accept the whole half-assery you've been doing."

Y/N laughed from the floor. "Half-assery?"

"Tch, can't expect to see me as number one if you're dead." He used her words and made it his.

Although they both did not know the entirety of how her healing quirk works, Katsuki knew that it had limitations somehow. He knew she was not completely immortal, even if Mr. Mamoru tells them how her regeneration is faster than normal people. If she develops scars, her quirk literally has a limitation and it was better not to push it.

"Alright."
