A fresh start...

I always live in the shadows never to be seen. The streets are my home too. I know my way around. The darkness and the shadows are my friends. This is the way I live and all I know since I was 4. I still remember the fateful day as it was yesterday.

In this society everyone has a special ability called a quirk. My parents had one too. However not everyone was as fortunate to be born with it. I am one of the few children born quirkless. There was nothing I could do about it.

It was not my fault that I was born like this. It kinda just happened. I need to say in all my 9 years of living on the street I have learned to live without one and people say I even have an intelligent or analyzing quirk where in reality I had none. I was just interested in them and in their nature. They are fascinating and as much as I hated them, I loved them.

My parents hated me for being quirkless and couldn't look into my eyes it took them only 2 weeks after my diagnoses as qirkless that they threw me out. That time I was only 4 years old. My story doesn't end there it would be only the beginning.

The streets are a rough place to live especially when you are just a child and quirkless. I must say it would have been my death sentence back then too if not for me being just me.

The first year I nearly died because of starvation and because of the coldness but fate was against it. To be brutally honest, I still don't get it. I should have died the first year and the year after and every other year but for some od reason I am still alive.

Like every time I was at the end of my energy and was about to starve to death, I would find some food. I also tried to kill myself but there would be always someone there to interfere. One time I bothered a homeless person in an abandoned building. It was a building where I wanted to jump off. Naturally once the person saw me he grabbed me and threw me out of the building not to meantime to drag me down the stairs.

Thanks to me living on the streets I got a lot of injuries and it's not like someone was looking after me so they never got treated. On top of that no one really cared for a street rat like me. I could run around completely covered in blood and not even a hero would come to help me. Bin there done that once. I was desperate and no one cared.

With all these years, all these injuries my body became weaker and weaker. Now I was praying each day to even survive another day. I caught some bad stuff and I had so many unknown illnesses that I was completely weak and from time to time I would cough up some blood. My lungs where not the best.

Every time I thought I was about to die, i would find some food or a shelter. However, one day I was out searching for both food and a shelter. But then something odd happened. This day would change my whole life completely.

Flashback brought to you by a 8 year old Izuku wandering around town barefoot and in raged clothes.

I was walking down a street in the middle of the night searching for an abandoned building when I came across this huge abandoned school. I knew the legend of it. People say it is haunted and therefore are not even going close to it but for me it was nothing. I needed a place to stay and since this was the only building where I knew that no one would even come close to me, I accepted my fate and went straight to the building.

If this is my fate, then so be it!

I knew that the place was huge and close to the forest part of the town but as long as no one would try to kill me because they wanted my place I would be happy here.

The reason I was out here in the middle of the night when it was raining was not because I wanted too. In contrary I was force to leave by another homeless teenager that came right at me with some insane enhanced strength quirk. He threw me against the wall before I could even react and so I was sure I got some broken rips because of that. Since I also wasn't so keen on being his punching bag nor did I want to die a painful death, I quickly left leaving everything behind me.

I knew about the school a long time ago but I never was so desperate to go there. It's not like I was scared of ghost, the problem lied elsewhere. There was a rumor but someone needed to spread that and in this world filled with all kind of quirks someone might have taken the school as their home and using their quirk to get everyone to not even get close to it.

I don't care!

Whoever might be in this school is surely better than these punks!

They would beat me up if I didn't run!

It took me 3 hours to get to the school. Once I was there I somehow entered the school through a broken window and cut myself in the process.

Great Izu!

Now you don't have only broken bones but also glass stuck in your feet and cuts on your hand!

On top of that I am sure I have a fewer too!

If this is my end then so be it!

Ignoring the pain, I began walking down the hallways until I could hear something. IT was a single man's voice coughing. Once I heard that, I immediately froze.

I knew it!

I am not alone!

But the person sounds in pain...

Even though I live on the street, I still can't abandon people that I see that are in need of help, be it food that I would share or even a sleeping place.

Not able to resist my own instincts of helping people, I found myself running towards the coughing person and ended up in a big white hospital like room. In contrary to the whole run down building this room looked tidy and well preserved. Not wasting any minute, I ran towards the man's side.

Me: Are you okay, Sir? Is there anything I can help you with?

However, the man was still coughing like crazy and gasping for air, that was when I finally got to my senses and saw that he had a breathing mask around his neck. Not wasting any more minutes I took it and put it back on him. However, he was still coughing and I began panicking. It was clear to me that he didn't get enough air and so I began looking if the machine that was providing him with air was still working. To my surprise the machine was broken down.

Me: I need to at least try...

I went to the machine and began looking for the error. It was plugged in and the room was illuminated which lead me to the conclusion that it was not the fault of the supply voltage and so I began opening the machine and looking for any faults. I might not be the best when it comes to this but I have light long enough on the streets that I have picked up one or the other skill. I could easily find the fault and fix with what I found in the same room. It took me only a couple of minutes and the machine began working again.

I then went back to the man laying on the bad.

Me: Thank god you are okay now.

He quickly began to calm down and he stopped looking so much in pain.

Me: At least one of us isn't pain.

I then collapse down beside the bed and began to pick the glass out of my feet. Fortunate for me I couldn't feel any pain or even the temperature around me that's the reason I also needed to be careful.

Ahh how fortunate!

At least I can't feel anything.

I laid there for a while until I fell asleep.

The next time I woke up I found myself laying in the same hospital bed that the man was laying on and all my wounds were actually covered in bandages.

Me: Huh....

???: Ah looks like you are finally awake.

The voice surprised me that much that I jumped out of the bed and immediately fell to my knees.

???: I am sorry for scaring you like that kid.
