We walked out of the building for the first time since I was here. It felt refreshing somehow. We started walking towards the back of the building, for some building which was huge inside it was way too tiny from the outside, beautiful nonetheless.
When we reached our destination my mouth was agape with admiration and awe.
It was like a fair, but with many training stations, and weapon stands and not games and food stalls, it looked dangerous in a beautiful way, just looking at it gave me a boost of energy.
There were places where they gave weapon to warriors to train, there were people who didn't look human. Some were too tall to pass as a human, some too short, some had blue tinted skin and some where the tannest people I ever saw not a dark tan but almost like a burned skin.
They looked a lot human yet nothing human. We were about to go to train when I was called by Lucas.
"Eric is awake he want to see you" he said. I was happy that Eric was awake but why did he want to see me? We rushed to the room Eric was in, we saw him running his hand through his hair in frustration, when he saw me he rushed
"Charlie you need to trust me" he said, he looked desperate.
"Trust you about what?" I asked.
"He's a traitor" Ellie screamed at me tears streaming down her face, her lips quivering as she sobbed. She sat on a couch, her head in her hands as she continued sobbing.
"Ellie I'm not a traitor, it's just- you need to hear me out, please" he said with tears of his own.
"Let's hear him out" I said softly placing a hand on her shoulder. The guardian's words came back to my mind.
"They told me that you were killing their people, that you've been destroying dimensions" he said and I watched, confused.
"And you just believed that? You believed that we were hurting them?" Ellie asked disappointment and disbelieve clear in her voice. Then it hit, the dark dimension told him that we were killing people and he had believed them. We were all disappointed, isn't that why they are called dark dimension because they are hurting others and not the other way around.
"I did not believe them, at first but then I saw their people and how they were suffering and... I'm sorry" he started sobbing.
"I saw little kids Ellie, alone without their parents. I saw parents who lost their children" he said. I had learned that Ellie and Eric lost their father when Eric was four. That's when I remembered Eric's mother, she was sitting in a corner not uttering a word, she looked broken.
"They were the one's who took him away from us Eric, how could you believe them?" She asked, and no-one needed to explain who she was talking about.
"I thought I was doing the right thing, they were very manipulative, I thought that there must have been something wrong they couldn't have killed dad" he continued.
"But the day they attacked me, I started doubting them and their intention, and when I got to know that they were making humans work with them I knew they are not what they I thought they were, I told Amanda and she said that her and two other warriors were to leave that day and that she trust me but had to pretend as though she didn't because the other two warriors were there. And stabbing me was for them to believe her, she said help us, she'll tell us what they're planning" Eric completed, the tears still streaming down his face.
"I can't believe you believed them, they recruited humans. The reason why we were blessed, the reason why we exist is to get humans far away from the mess, to protect them and not use them. Keep them away from the monsters, curses and all the dangers from all the dimensions and not throw them to its mouth" Lucas shouted, it was the first time I saw Lucas loose his cool, I noticed his eye color change into the color I saw on guardian and gaped at him.
