Being shaken up like an earthquake is not on my best ways to start your happy morning list, and I'm sure it's anyone else's list too. But unfortunately for me, I was shook like an earthquake and I think it's safe to say that I know who the culprit is, that is considering this is the case every other morning, it's not the best but definitely effective. So I pulled myself out of bed and headed towards the washroom, I stood in front of the mirror looking at my reflection and said

"good morning " I sort of made it a habit because what's better than waking up in the morning and making yourself the first person to see in the morning, it worked as a boost of self confidence. I showered and dressed up for school, well let's just say dressed, My dark green hoodie and pants were not something you would call dress up, I went down stairs for breakfast. The noise coming through the doors of the dining room did not go unnoticed. Mom and dad were arguing about something. I found it very disturbing because rarely ever did, they would usually just talk it out without any more than a usual conversation. It also made me curious to know what made them argue.

I slowly went closer to the dining room, the closer I went the louder the sound became. I was actually nervous because it was the first time I'm hearing them arguing and they were shouting and they sounded really frustrated. I love my parents and I dont want any dispute to rise between them.

"How long do you think you're going to hide it from her" my dad asked

"I know I shouldn't hide it but what if she is the one" my mom replied, her voice was strained, like she was tired explaining and wanted dad to just understand.

"Were going next week" My dad demanded, it sounded weird.

"Where exactly are we going?" My mom asked, dread in her voice.

"There's a portal near Aunt Marie's house, a statue, she just have to hold its hand"

"First of all, how do you know that? Did you seriously ask Lucas about this? And second we are waiting until she's sixteen because the effort might even kill her. Once she turns sixteen she is supposed to show a sign... that is if she is the one"

I was so much indulged in trying to hear and understand what my parents were saying that I failed to notice something had approached me on my left, but when I did it startled me

"you're five minutes late for breakfast" I stood up from my semi crouch, my spine straight.

Now, as they say there should be at least one thing to ruin your perfect life. It's him my so-called brother August Fernando, who has made it a habit of trying to be my guardian. He's just two years older than me. But hey, he shouldn't be bossing around just because he's the elder one.

He is caring but just in a over protective way. It just gets annoying sometimes when he tries to stick his nose in everything that I do.

"What are you doing?" I asked

"Shouldn't I be the one asking that, eavesdropping on conversations again, huh?" He smirked at me.

This guy I swear if I get a chance I might strangle him.

He went inside the dining hall "good morning mom, good morning dad" Awe the good boy.

I went in after him "good morning" I said.

"Oh look she's here, now your brother told us you'd be late for breakfast"

"She is five minutes late" I gave him a stink eye and sat next to dad.

Dad turned to face me "so, last day"

"Yeah, last day hope it'll be good"

"Why, I'm sure it'll be good" he said, his words confident.
