Grace stood in shock. She couldn't believe Draco had proposed to her. She didn't know what to say and she didn't know what to think.

Draco looked at her. He frowned. "An answer would be nice. I'm on my knee like an idiot," he said.

Grace came back to reality. She looked at him. "Get up. I can't believe this."

Draco frowned. He looked at the ring and at Grace. "Are you telling me no?" He asked as he stood up.

Grace rolled her eyes and sighed. "Yes I'm telling you no. Draco. Look at what is going on around us. There's a war. And you decided to propose. Your family don't even know about us," she said.

"Maia does."

"Maia is my best friend and your sister. She knows almost everything. Your mother and your father don't know about us. And believe me, when they find out, I could be killed. I'm not a pureblood am I? From what I hear about Bellatrix, wouldn't surprise me if I were her next pair of earrings," Grace told him.

Draco smirked. "Aunt Bella doesn't wear earrings. They'd probably get stuck in her hair."

Grace walked into the dormitory. She saw Maia sitting on the bed. She smiled. "You okay? You don't look too good," Maia said.

Grace shook her head. "Draco. He proposed to me."

"Holy merlin. What did you say?"

"I told him no. He proposed to me in the middle of a war. What's to stop him from changing his mind as soon as we leave Hogwarts? I don't want to be the one who's left heartbroken," Grace said as she looked at her.

Maia nodded. "Yeah I get that. But I do think he means it. As I know my brother and I know that he wouldn't just drop you like that. That's a promise," she told her.

Grace sighed as she sat on her bed. She looked at her. "I don't know. It's all too complicated. And even if, Draco might not forgive me. Or even want to be with me," she said.

Draco was annoyed that Grace had turned him down. He was hurt and he couldn't believe that she had told him no. He thought that they had something special. Something that made the war worth it. That their love could overcome it all. He didn't care about what his family thought. He didn't care what anyone else thought. He only wanted Grace. But he had a feeling that their relationship had ended.

Draco looked up as Grace walked towards him. She smiled. "Hey. Can we talk?" She asked.

"Yes. What's up?"

Grace took a deep breath. She looked at him. "I don't care. I don't care what anyone thinks about us. They think that we're ugly. But I know that we're beautiful. You and me. We can face anything as long as we gave each other. I love you Draco Malfoy. And the answer is yes. I will marry you. If you still want me to," she said.

Draco stood up and pulled her into his arms and kissed her. Grace kissed back. Both of them unaware just how much danger Grace was in. And it was all down to a secret Draco was hiding.
