Grace sat in the office with Draco, Maia and Lucius. She felt awkward and uncomfortable. She didn't know what to say. But the way Lucius was looking at her was making her feel uneasy.

Draco looked to his father. "What brings you here father? Is mother okay?" He asked, wanting to diffuse the tension.

"Narcissa is fine. She is away in Paris. I am here because I want to meet the girl who has made you stray from your family values. Keeping the Malfoy line pure," Lucius said as he looked to his son.

Maia rolled her eyes. She looked to him. "Father. You seem to forget that your dark lord is forcing me to lie with an halfblood. So you cannot say anything."

"That is for the dark lord. You are not willingly doing it. And Severus is an old family friend," Lucius told her.

"That's not the point."

Lucius glared. "Cease this nonsense Maia. Or I will punish you," he said. He turned to Grace. "It seems you have turned my daughter into a blood traitor too. How does that make you feel?"

Grace scoffed. She stood up and looked to him. "Just because my parents aren't magical. Doesn't mean I'm any less worthy of being here. The sorting hat clearly saw something in me. Or it wouldn't have placed me in Slytherin would it? So I deserve to have a little respect."

"You expect me to respect the mudblood? Hardly. I wouldn't make demands like that Miss Mellows. Or you will regret it," Lucius said. He smirked. "If you don't mind, I wish to speak to my children."

Grace stood up. She walked off. Not even looking at Draco. Hating how he hadn't stood up for her.

Grace walked along the corridors. She was annoyed with Draco. "Grace!"

Grace turned to see Maia. She sighed. "Where's your brother?" She asked as she looked to her.

"My father wanted to talk to him. Are you okay? I've never seen anyone silence Lucius Malfoy before. I'm impressed," Maia said.

Grace sighed. "I don't deserve him talking to me like that. He's an asshole."

Maia smiled. She took her hand. "You rock. I was impressed that you stunned him into silence. I love it."

Grace smiled and nodded. She looked to her. "I'm gonna go to the library. I've got an essay due for Snape. And I don't think he would give me a way out."

***
Grace sat in the library. She couldn't concentrate on anything. "I've been looking for you," Draco said as he looked to her.

"I've been here."

Draco sat with her. He smiled. "I'm proud of you that you managed to shut my father up."

Grace sighed and looked to him. "That shouldn't have been my responsibility. It should have been you. You didn't defend me. Maia did. You didn't. Do you know how that made me feel?" She said.

Draco looked to her. He saw how upset she looked. "I'm sorry. I didn't want him to start on you. Or manipulate you. I would have hated that."

Grace shrugged. "He did start on me. Doesn't matter what I did. He would have started."

"I'm sorry."

Grace looked to him and sighed. She had no idea how everything with her and Draco was about to change.
