Draco hadn't seen or spent much time with Grace since he had been told that he would have to choose who died. His sister who had been there for him. Or the girl he was in love with.

He didn't know how to handle it all. He couldn't watch either of them die. He just needed to make a choice about it all but he couldn't.

He couldn't just give up on his sister. Knowing how Narcissa was already dead. And Draco hated it. He knew if he lost Maia too, he wouldn't cope. But losing Grace would just send him over the edge.

It wasn't easy at all. And he wanted things to be okay. He was just wanting to keep the two people he cared most about to be okay.

Grace had been worried about him. She wanted to talk to him about what was going on. But she didn't know how to. He was pushing her away like there was no tomorrow.

All either of them knew was that things weren't the same. They just needed to get back to how it used to be. And make their relationship work.

Grace walked down into the common room. She saw Maia there and smiled. "Hey. How you doing?" She asked.

Maia nodded. "I miss my mum. Never thought I'd be left without her. She's always been there for me. And now I've lost her," she mumbled.

Grace sat down with her. She smiled. "She would be so proud of you Mai. I know it's so hard. But you'll be okay," she said.

Maia sighed. "I don't think she's dead. I've asked Severus about it. But he's not telling me anything," she told her.

"We can find out if you want to. It's not gonna be easy. But we can do it. Draco isn't talking to me. And I don't know why. I think he's keeping something from me and I just want it to be okay," Grace said.

"It'll be okay. We're in this together," Maia said as she looked to her. She smiled. "You and Draco are meant to be. Okay?"

Grace was sitting in the library. She looked up as Draco walked in. He sat with her. "Hey. I'm sorry that I've been so absent. I've just had to deal with some stuff. And I'm sorry if you feel like I've been avoiding you," he said.

Grace looked to him. She sighed. "It's fine. I know you're going through some stuff. But it's fine. You don't need to worry about it."

Draco sighed. "I want us to work. I just think we need to talk. So this weekend I'm going to take you away. I'll clear it when Snape. And then we're going to talk," he told her.

"Okay. Listen, talk to your sister. She's struggling with what happened with your mum. So talk to her," Grace told him.

"I will."

Grace walked along the corridor. She wasn't paying attention when she felt someone behind her. She turned and frowned as she felt everything turning black for her.

But who had attacked Grace Mellows? And why?
