>───⇌••⇋───<Queenie closed the door to Miriana and Charles’ room, raking her fingers through her hair. She’d spent the last 12 hours trying to calm them down, mostly Charles, seeing as he was more than pissed off.
Thankfully, after hours of talking and consoling, they were finally calm. Knowing that her sister was safe with Charles lifted a heavy weight off her chest. She rubbed her chest as she remembered how her heart broke in two as she watched Miriana jump into the water.
She shook her head, doing what she did with every bad memory: push it back to the deep depths of her mind. While it was filled with bad memories, it was also filled with her deepest fantasies.
Her deepest fantasies of the masked man.
She looked down at the symbol on her wrist, smiling slightly. “I can't wait to see what you can do.”
She stroked the symbol, her thoughts fading back to her masked hero. Her cheeks flushed as she remembered his lips on her wrist as he sealed the mark. Just the feeling of him on her sent her soaring.
“No… no Queenie!” she scolded, opening the door to her room. “You have to focus on keeping Miri safe, not some man whose name you don’t even know.”
“I don't think I’m just some man anymore, Quincy.” The masked man chuckled, sitting at her desk.
“Wh-What are you doing here?! Ho-How you get in?” she shrieked, her blush deepening.
“My room was destroyed in the strike. Miriana gave me a key to your room. She said I can stay here,” he replied, getting out of the chair. “You don't mind, do you?”
“U-Um… I-I-I…” Queenie looked down, her cheeks flushed in embarrassment… and maybe something else.
“Quincy, I can leave if you want. I have a buddy on the ship who said I could bunk with him.” He picked up his bag. “I don't want to make you uncomfortable.”
“No, no… yo-you can stay,” she muttered, looking away from the man. “Y-You can take the couch.”
“Yes, miss.” He chuckled, placing his bag down on his couch. “How’s your sister and Charles?”
“The dragon’s pissed. His princess is nervous. She’s worried if he gets too angry, he’ll kill Soren, which will put him in jail. Luckily, she always balances him out. He does the same for her, so they should be okay.” Queenie replied, walking over to her desk. “Hey,” she turned towards him, “how’s your mother? Did you get the new number?”
“Yeah I did, I called her earlier today. I told her about what was happening on the ship. She’s glad that Charles and Miriana are together. She’s always liked them. She’s gonna send over some recipes for Jerald. It’s some cookies the wolves are in love with. My stepfather’s a wolf and he loves them. I don't know. She also wants to send some meals for Wayne and Penelope. She felt a little bad that Penelope doesn't have a mom to cook her home-cooked meals, so she wanted to send her some lasagna. Oh! And she’s glad that you’re the one who got my blessing.”
Queenie froze, her eyes widening. “Yo-You talk to your mother about me?”
“Yes. She’s a huge drama fan so I tell her what’s happening on the ship.” He walked over to Queenie, tapping her nose. “That includes you.” He began unpacking his stuff. “Don't you tell your parents about what’s happening on the ship?”
