Jerald pulled out his keys, his lips never leaving Raelyn’s as he fumbled to open the door to his suite. She chuckled, moving back only for a second and prompting a growl from the alpha. “Jerald-” he didn’t let her finish as he gripped her waist, pulling her in closer. She laughed, trying to separate them once more but the alpha wasn’t having it.
“Stay,” he grumbled, shocking the witch.
His voice is so… titillating. A fire lit up in her cheeks as his eyes flashed a royal blue.
“I lost one Luna before.” He pinned her against the door. “I’m not losing this one.” He swiftly opened the door, catching his beloved before she could fall.
Raelyn gazed up into his royal blue eyes and stroked his cheek. “Woah… why are they so blue?”
“Mating ritual,” he quickly replied, raising her up as he turned her around to show her the decorations.
Her eyes were first directed towards the stars that shone above her head. “When did you get a skylight?”
“I didn’t.” He leaned in, wrapping his arms around her. “Miriana learned a spell. Those are real stars, Rae. They’re only here temporarily, though. They have to go back tomorrow night.”
“Act-Actual stars?” she stammered, earning a nod from Jerald.
“Yes. Actual stars,” he repeated, kissing her neck. “Wait here.”
He unwrapped his arms from her waist. When he felt her tug on his hand, he turned around to face her. “You're too good for me…” she muttered, her cheeks stained red.
He chuckled, nibbling at her ear. “You think this is good now, just wait till I have you pinned under me.”
Her cheeks burned a bright red. “I-I-I…”
He laughed, letting go of her hand as he walked into the bathroom. He turned on the light, staring into the reflection in the mirror as it slowly turned into a wolf. “Why are we in here?” His wolf was growing impatient. He’d wanted to mark Raelyn the moment they laid eyes on her, but the human half insisted on waiting.
He had to remind his wolf constantly that Raelyn wasn’t like Freya. Wolves were quick to mate, sometimes at first sight. He and Freya mated a week after they met – but Raelyn wasn’t a wolf.
He’d seen wolves whose mates were other magical races and it took them months, even years, after they met to finally mate. He was lucky enough to be with Raelyn now after only knowing her for four months.
He gripped the edge of the sink, letting out a shaky breath. “It’s been so long… so long since I’ve actually bedded someone. It’s been so long since I’ve mated with someone. What if… what if I don't please her?”
“That’s impossible Jerald. I’m pretty sure Freya was very pleased when we first mated with her.” His wolf flashed him a sly grin. “What were her exact words? Oh! That's right! ‘Oh, Jerald! Harder! Harder!’.”
